    New to forum and Miatas

Just thought I'd take a second to introduce myself. Am in the active duty Air Force out of Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. I work on A-10C's and have been in 10 years this December. I've recently decided to finally go ahead and buy a project car, and have always been in love with Miata's. I will most likely be buying one in the January time frame. Right now I am looking at cars and learning as much as I can! Concerning my plans with the car, autox is definitely on the table, and I guess I'd consider myself somewhere in between the all out purists and the crazy modders I am most likely looking at an NA, and my 'sweet spot' SEEMS to be a 94 so far.. I just like those cars! Anyway, I would love to hear any advice or anything anyone has..lookin forward to getting to know everyone here.

Thanks guys! Roger on the other forum -- there's definitely a different set of ideals per membership base on each forum, but both equally valuable!

Welcome to the site!! I think the best year to mod really depends on what you want to do with the car. If for AutoX only then the early year the better (lighter cars) lightest cars were 89-91. As for modding you can mod all of them pretty easy, just depends on your goals. Everyone thinks bigger is better, but folks forget that the 1.6L motor was the same as the Turbo 323 GTX so it handles boost much better if you want to go that route.

Also please post pics of your Warthogs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<--- Former Navy F-14 fighter mechanic!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the Furom! NA's handle like a go-cart, in my terms... they seem to be more responsive to steering inputs. I had a 91 NA for only 3 weeks beofre it was trashed by an idiot driver. Just purchased a 2001 NB adnd the ride is some what the same butnot as reactive to imputs as the NA,s But I am sure Some of the guys will say thatall depands on suspension and sway bars too. I like my NB. has more room for my 6' frame to strecht out in... Well till I install my new Hard dog roll bar...
Thanks for your service to this Great Country!

If you are waiting on Ammo, they're probably asleep in a bobtail.
