(San Diego) September 2012 Calender of Events for Project-5 Roadsters

Hey guys September is coming up fast! Come out and say hi! Along with the scheduled events will be also be having impromptu get togethers at Green Flash Brewery, BBQs and hang outs.

Here is our list of scheduled events:


September 1st
MOUNTAIN CRUISE

LOCATION: PM me
TIME: PM me

We will be heading up to the northern parts of San Diego hitting up back roads and mountain passes. Remember THIS IS A CRUISE!

That means:
NO SPEEDING
NO BAKA DRIVING
NO TAILGATING
RESPEC EVERYONE AND MINIMIZE YOUR OWN DRIVING STYLE TO ACCOMMODATE UN-EXPERIENCED DRIVERS.

If we get more than 10 cars we will have to be splitting up into smaller groups.

The cruise will end at a lunch spot that will be determined by the drive date.


September 8th
K1 SPEED - CARLSBAD

LOCATION: 6212 Corte Del Abeto

Meet up at Fuddruckers.
Get gas at the Shell station if need be.

Hoping to arrive at K1 by 11ish.

Prices:
First Time racers will have a License Fee. $6.00
Arrive and drive is $19.99 for Single race.
Three Races for $50

SELF TECH TECH DAY

A "self tech" tech day to get some of our cars ready for MazFest 2012 and the Speed Ventures Autocross at Auto Club Speedway at the beginning of October. We will be checking vehicle condition and making sure the car satisfies all the check list requirements for these events.


September 29th
MAZFEST 2012

LOCATION: Willow Springs International Raceway

The annual event Mazda throws out for us Mazda owners! We will decide whether to leave on Friday or Saturday to head up there. Also, check out Chris M's widebody NB2 at the Autokonexion booth!

Edited location for the Tech Day.

Rocky from Rocky's Miatomotive is kind enough to allow us to use space and the three lifts he has at his shop for our Tech Day on the 22nd. More information to come!

Due to scheduling conflicts with Coronado Speed Festival (http://www.fleetweeksandiego.org/events/speed-fest.html) we are moving the Tech Day up one week! It will give you guys an extra week to get stuff fixed for events / piece of mind a week early haha.

The garage lifts will be categorized into 3 different categories.
Facing the front of the shop from left (lift 1) to right (lift 3).

Lift 1 - intermediate work (fluid changes, etc)

Lift 2 - quick jobs (tech inspections)

Lift 3 - more advance or jobs that take a long time ex: timing belt.
Kaus - suspension swap

We will be doing a BBQ so please post what you are going to bring.
Also if you are getting your vehicle worked on a contribution to the grill/ donation to Rocky would be nice since he is not charging us for time or use of lifts.

No meet officially planned this week but a group of us will be at Coronado Speed Festival this weekend. There will be a Mazda MX-5 Cup race also!
