Idling - Listen to it purr...
Hello from Houston!
Hello all...I am an official Miata owner now! I have been gawking over these cars for years now, and I have finally decided it was time to get one for my own and see what the fuzz is all about. I bought my car two days ago...and I am in LOVE!
It's a 1999 Miata, Silver and completely stock. It has the Bose audio system, tan leather interior, wood-grain accents on e-brake, shift knob, and stereo system. I couldn't be happier. I have a Caliber SRT4 and I thought I was going to miss the turbo but, I haven't yet.
I currently live in Houston, TX, inside the loop in the Magnolia Grove/Rice-Military area of town. I'm a full-time student at the University of Houston double majoring in French and American Sign Language Interpreting. I work at Starbucks in Montrose part-time and I am learning to love this little car more and more every day I have it. My dog, Russell, a Beagle-Bassett mix, is still getting used to the small interior: he's been used to walking around and lying down in the back of my Caliber.
Essentially that is all. I do plan to do some modifications to my car...beginning with some retrofitted projector HIDs lamps and Fog lamps as well...I've come to realize how small I am on the road and want people to see me on the HWY at night. Eventually I would like to do a suspension and wheel setup, but that won't be for a few months...I'm enjoying the smooth ride, compared to my Caliber. Other than that, I look forward to reading through the forums and research some more on the car and look forward to any advice from Miata veterans. Thanks.

2,000 rpm - light wheelspin, no bog here!
Welcome fellow Texan.
I'm not going to lie, it's a bit comical that you drive a miata...and work in montrose haha!
Welcome to the addiction, you will love your miata infinitely more than you could ever love your caliber.
