My laziness is more powerful than my desire to have a clean car.

I've been hunting for a miata on and off and was going to consider a 91 BRG since there's a few on CL in Socal but the bank declined me since she doesn't like the tan interior. So if anyone has any leads to a 93 LE, i'll greatly appreciated!!

This popped up on my news feed from the Drive

    https://www.thedrive.com/news/27216/...C-tO7WzmxGnpJ8

One of the world's best-maintained first-generation Miatas we've ever laid eyes on has come up for sale on eBay, and for a bit of a bargain, we must admit: a 1993 Mazda Miata with just 9,489 miles on the odometer.

Several years ago, when people began to miss the 1990s (and pop-up headlights), most of the good NA Miatas were snapped up, leaving mostly high-mileage or poorly-maintained examples on the market. That's why this particular Miata, which is listed for sale on eBay right now, is very special.

It's an ultra-low mileage vehicle with just 9,489 on the odometer, but it isn't a car that had to be dug from underneath a collapsed barn and cleaned of decades' worth of rodent droppings. The interior is showroom-pristine complete with cheesy embroidered floor mats, while the engine looks like it hasn't even been cranked yet. Even better, it's a rare sub-model, the Limited Edition, which was a 1993-only package limited to 1,500 cars globally, and is the reason for the blinding red leather interior.

At $17,900 (or best offer) for a 27-year-old car, it may seem like a bad deal, but consider what a new Miata actually cost back in the day. A 1990 model started at $13,800, which is the better part of $26,700 today, and the Limited Edition would've been a bit more on top of that. Considering that you'd get a like-new vehicle for barely two thirds its inflation-adjusted original price—one that's liable to appreciate with those charming flip-up headlights that no longer exist—this Miata could be the classic car bargain of the year. Move fast if you want it to be yours.

Introduced in 1989, the first-gen ("NA") Mazda Miata (or MX-5 in the rest of the world) became the overnight heartthrob of the public and motoring journalists alike. It boasted all the joys of a classic British roadster—two seats, rear-wheel-drive, and a folding roof—but none of the downsides, such as questionable build quality or Lucas Industries electrical systems. The NA Miata spawned a 30-year sports car dynasty that continues to its day, surviving economic ups and downs and changing consumer preferences by sticking to its guns: simplicity and minimal weight.

This seller is located not too far from where I work.
I have stopped by ShowDownMotors before and most of their cars were NOT in pristine condition while being way overpriced. Most were wore out classic cars with a paint job. But that was several years ago.
This car could be an exception.
If anyone is serious about this car I could drop by and give it an inspection and take additional pictures. Also inquire on the latest asking price.

This one in Derry, NH has been discussed at length elsewhere... I believe the story is that it has a salvage title from Texas. 39K miles, hardtop, $10K ask.

The same can be said for most of Expoline's inventory. They buy salvage and/or damaged cars at auction and then either rebuild, repair, or part them out.

That engine doesn't look very clean to me. I wonder if those are the original miles.

One-Owner 1993 Mazda Miata Limited Edition

    SOLD FOR $16,178 ON 9/2/20

This 1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata was purchased new by the current owner at Hall Mazda of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and it now shows just 22k miles. The car is number 218 of 1,500 Limited Edition examples produced for the model year, all of which were finished in Brilliant Black over red leather and powered by a 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes forged BBS wheels, front and rear spoilers, air conditioning, cruise control, a CD stereo, a sport suspension, and a stainless-steel exhaust system with a tubular header. Recent maintenance included an air-conditioning service, fluid changes, replacement of the spark plugs and ignition wires. This NA MX-5 is offered on behalf of the current owner with factory literature, promotional materials, its window sticker, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Wisconsin title.

Limited Edition examples were finished in Brilliant Black (PZ) and feature front and rear spoilers, a lower rear valance, specific badging. The black convertible top is accompanied by red boot and tonneau covers shown in the photo gallery below, which also contains close-up photos of the retractable headlights in their raised position, trim, and body panel VIN-stamped tags.

Factory 14″ forged BBS wheels are wrapped in 185/60 Capitol Sport tires and mounted over disc brakes at all four corners. Bilstein shocks, stiffer springs, and revised sway bars were all factory equipment on Limited Edition examples, and an included Bilstein sticker is shown in the gallery below.

The interior features high-back sport seats covered in red leather with integrated headrest speakers, which were unique to the 1993 Limited Edition, along with matching door panels and carpets that are protected by color-coordinated Miata-logo floor mats. Aluminum trim accents the doors and sills, and additional amenities include a Nardi leather-wrapped shift knob, a CD stereo, air conditioning, and cruise control.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames an 8k-rpm tachometer and a 140-mph speedometer, along with oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel-level gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just over 22k miles. The seller noted the power antenna does not retract all the way.

The 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four was rated at 116 horsepower when new, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission linked to a viscous limited-slip differential. Service in August 2019 included conversion of the air-conditioning system to R134 refrigerant, flushes of the transmission and rear differential, and replacement of the spark plugs and ignition wires.

This one just keeps going up and up and up!

8000 Mile 1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata Limited Edition

    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...FdElChBsco-p2Y

    UPDATED : $35,000 SOLD

    Chassis: JM1NA3510P1407567

This Mazda Miata Limited Edition is number 82 of approximately 1,500 produced for the 1993 model year, and was acquired by the seller in 2016 from its original owner who purchased it at Wagoneer Mazda in Springfield, Illinois. The car is finished in black over red leather, and power is provided by a 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a viscous limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes forged BBS wheels, a hardtop, front and rear spoilers, air conditioning, cruise control, and a CD stereo. Work under current ownership consisted of replacing the timing belt and ignition components as well as fluid changes for the drivetrain, cooling system, and brakes. This NA LE Miata shows 8k miles and is offered with a hardtop, a tonneau cover, original sales paperwork, manufacturer’s literature, factory and new old-stock parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title.

Each 1993 Limited Edition was finished in Brilliant Black (PZ) and came fitted with a lower rear valance as well as front and rear spoilers. This example features gold badging that was added by the original dealer, and is said to be one of 500 fitted with an optional hardtop featuring a rear defroster. A three-stage paint correction was performed under current ownership. A scratch is noted on the hardtop along with several chips on the front fender and hood, and a bottle of Dr. ColorChip touch-up paint will be included in the sale. A walk-around video has been provided by the seller.

The black convertible top and hardtop are accompanied by the red factory boot, tonneau cover, and defroster cable shown in the photo gallery below, which also contains close-up photos of the retractable headlights in their raised position. Factory 14″ forged BBS wheels wear period 185/60 Bridgestone SF-325 tires which are mounted over ABS equipped disc brakes at all four corners. The brake fluid was changed under current ownership. The NA Miata’s double-wishbone independent suspension was factory-equipped with Bilstein shocks, stiffer and shorter springs, and revised sway bars on Limited Edition cars.

    [img]https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/1993_mazda_mx-5_miata_160573394087d1dc9f9ab8IMG_23.jpg?w=620&res ize=620%2C413[img]

The red cockpit features leather-trimmed sport seats that integrate headrest speakers in addition to bass “thumpers” in the lower backrests. Matching door panels feature unique LE speaker covers, and carpets protected by floor mats with stitched Miata logos. Stainless steel trim accents the door speakers and sills. Amenities include air conditioning, rear window defroster, and cruise control as well as power windows, door locks, and mirrors. The MSSS Pioneer Bodysonic Mazda Sensory Sound System features a silver-faced cassette and CD stereo, door-mounted tweeters, and a power antenna in addition to the aforementioned seat speakers.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel matches the leather Nardi shift knob first used in the LE, and frames a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline and a 140-mph speedometer surrounded by oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just under 8k miles, 500 of which were added by the seller.

The 1.6-liter inline-four features a long-nose crank and drives the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and an optional viscous limited-slip differential. The engine was rated at 116 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 100 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 rpm when new. Work under current ownership included replacement of the timing belt, spark plugs, ignition wires, and fuel filter as well as oil and coolant changes.

The transmission, brake, clutch, and differential were also serviced with fresh fluids. The seller notes the presence of factory paint markings, ink stamps, and paper tags in the engine bay and on various underbody components.

The window sticker lists Limited Edition equipment in addition to the optional hardtop. Correspondence between the original owner and Mazda North America shows this car as sequence number 82 of the 1,500 1993 Limited Edition examples produced. Additional items to be conveyed to the next owner include the following:

    Promotional materials with numbered keychain
    Original sales contract and paperwork
    Copy of original title
    Factory keys
Owner’s manual, brochures, and warranty pamphlets
