Were you driving around on that bent wheel for 2 years? There wasn't a local place that could fix it? Well let us know if they do a good job for the price.

couldn't find a local place that wanted to touch it.. :( it's all good. it bent the rim enough for it to not hold air, so i wasn't driving on it.

yeah, if you go to there site there is some really impressive work! i feel like i'm wasting there time almost with what they could do.. i was tempted to spend money and get them all re-lipped an extra two inches making them 15x8's, but couldn't deal with the $1000.. i'd just buy new cheap wheels for that.. maybe one day.. until then, i'll just be "hella sunk" and "old school".. :D and i'll be happy about it, dammit.

i will be honest. i'm not happy... they won't return my emails, said it was going to be shipped out on the 2nd... i called last week, said they had to "pick it up".. i've been probably too polite. this is getting ridiculous.. anyone in cali want to go pick it up for me? i don't even think they have it yet. i'm going to call them today and be a little more angry.. i'm not amused.

sorry i didn't update this. they sent my wheel out on the 28th after calling and apologizing to me on the phone. i guess the owner called me and told me that if i wanted to i could send the other 3 to them and have them polish the lips for free.. i have a feeling i'm going to have to do that because i have a feeling they mirror polished the one that was bent.. didn't really plan on it and would prefer to not have to send 3 back.. we'll see. i should be getting my wheel on monday. thanks guys for offering to swing by for me. :D. about to open a can of my little pony whoopass on them.

Good to hear that you're happy. It gets pretty scary when you put your trust in someone, and everything's great before you give them your money, then once they have your cash, communications stop, and you're left second guessing yourself. I understand shit can get pushed back, and deadlines can come and go, but, as long as there is open lines of communication between parties, everyone will be on the same page. POST SOME PICTURES!!!!

WOW, that looks great! Nice mirror finish. Do they do any dynamic balancing? To say, is the wheel "trued" after the dent is taken out?

Dang, that did turn out pretty good! I'd definitely send the others to get polished to match it, especially if they'll do it for free.

Wow, they came out great. I went with Rimguard Extreme for my repair, and they did quite well.

I always will caution people when using any company like this, make sure you get everything that you want done IN WRITING BEFORE PAYING. I had a bit of a fight to get what I was promised over the phone, and what I received the first time. Also, if you are attached to your valve stems/caps, do not send them in with the wheels. They "lost" my RAYS short stems. After badgering them about it, I received the stems in them mail weeks later, with no valve caps. They have yet to return the caps.

tsingson
07-13-2012, 11:21 AM
Have you been badgering them more about getting the caps back?

Demon I Am
07-13-2012, 02:04 PM
4 emails and no response. I have a feeling whoever made them disappear (most likely one of the techs) in the shop, made the caps disappear as well.

Enough thread derailing, I want to see some new pics of these!

that is a super nice repair for sure. There is a guy here in the Bay area that has been doing stuff like this for years, Glenn's Wheels or something, he showed me the redrilled wheels he has done and he told me he would give me a good rate to have my 3-piece Panasports rebarreled to go W I D E, so later one I might have to look into that again.

JDMClassic
08-22-2012, 04:04 PM
So I may be interested in using this guy, but was this repairable because the wheel was a 2 piece? I have a similar bent RS-Watanabe but is the 1 piece cast aluminum wheel.
