Thought it would be cool to have a "post your" drift specific roadster thread.
rules:
must be a roadster set up specificly to accel at drifting.however developed the car is .it might be lightly modded, or fully built.

Does not need to be an action shot, a sitting shot is fine.

can be dual purpose , but more interested in drift cars.

not looking for the pic you have of that time you got sideways in your autox car.

this is not a build thread ,but some details are cool. discussion is also cool.

rambling little girls that bring their drama are not aloud.

good example of a dual purpose car that was very drift friendly ,putting me on the border of fully commiting it as a drift car. i kind of wish i just turned this car into what my na is ,rather than doing the na.

I started down this path urban, but have since reverted :p
Secret Element inner tie rods on r pkg outers were the only angle mods. That ended up killing the stock 100k mile pump.
Never got too deep into it, I was using cheap or used 14/15" tires with 110whp, OTS Stances while Rob was gettin us all set up on RD.

Been on a hiatus from drifting until I graduate college and can afford to go at it full balls.
NB welded, megan rucas, stock power. Fun until you want more, and stock power isn't cutting it anymore.

jdmeg2 is he on here? Ive been wanting to take pics of him drifting since I got my miata, he use to tear up beaverun back when I didnt even care about miatas and I litearlly only have one pic of him. And since I got a miata 8-9 months ago I havnt seen him since:[


Also Doward is one of those taken at beaverun? You miata guys need to come up to beaverun more often I am there always and I got a crew of miatas to come aswell, blu92 and griffindork come and morr use to come untill he moved to NC.

They dont have drifting anymore (as of now) though wah!

Yep, Tyler and I used to come over there quite a bit. We tandemed in mansfield at Drift a Palooza a couple times too. I saw Johns post on FB about them using the skidpad for fulltime kart rentals now, sucks. Hopefully they/we/you PA guys find somewhere out there to slide. We have Kilkare and SLT over in Xenia still at least. We have had a few drift days here at Columbus motor speedway as well.

I have some jdm/carview pics to post up later.

nothing exciting about this car.
bolt in cage. missing door bars.
tein flex. de-powered rack. secret element inners. duralast fc ends. rb tubular front sway with brace and rb end links. welded diff. hawk hp+ all around.
always aligned. never fight her to drift. i love her.

i wish i had more photos. i lost most of the ones i paid for.
probably my favorite one of all.

i really want to get into this, but my car has been only setup for track and autox.. :( i have a feeling with a few minor tweeks i could get the tail out, but i don't know about keeping it out and in control. i only have FM springs/swaybars and tokicos.. would love to try though. i need to just make it to an event but i don't feel like getting laughed at... i mean, i know everyone is a newb at some point..

Mine's setup for track, but it'll drift, just gotta get out there and try it, you'd be surprised. Just keep the foot planted, and keeping it in control's all down to you.


Outta curiosity, if I were to post mine in here, would I get slated? It's primarily a track car, but I do do drift events in it as well... Dual purpose, as per the OP?

U know . i think we all get the idea of the thread. ideally i think weld like to see some setups that take a car to the next level.
i would like to see your pics. some of the guys that specialize in drifting might tell you .its possible to hold a slide with skill. but that same car will never do what a prepd car can

Stock other than coils and wheels. Closest 1.8 rear end at a junkyard is 350 miles away in Indiana, so I'm going to try and shotpeen the 1.6 and see if I can get it to hold up. If so I'll get a used Kaaz or Cusco LSD. Got hit by a semi, so I'll be getting Autokonexion rear overfenders, and I have a Uras hood vent sitting around thats going on as well.

I would love to have knuckles, but makes it hard if I want to keep my car dual purpose. 9" 6ul rub my coilovers at full lock to the right.

Same reason i dont really plan to track my car.
with the angle . i can only run a +0 wheel in 8" or lower up front. and i already rub lca.

That'd be my problem with knuckles (or even lock spacers) I think, my current wheels are +50 = not a lot more lock before I start hitting shit.:fp:

Theoretically, you shouldn't be needed full lock on the track, but I have no idea how knuckles would change the steering geometry. Would it affect normal angles needed on track? I've even laid off putting my tie rod spacers in because of that....and I don't know where they go.

i feel that when i've been on track the most i've turned the wheel is about 120 degrees from center.. and that's rare. usually no more than 75 degrees.
