Short and sweet, has anyone swapped a 1028 header onto an LHD NA? Curious about steering column interference.

Yes, I am aware that a RB header is probably a better choice.

The main problem is that the US-spec cat won't fit. US-spec 1.8s used a 440mm cat, JDM-spec 1.8s all used 375mm. Although a 1.6 cat could be fitted, I'm not sure how the emissions would be affected, and this would be even more pronounced on cars with OBD-2. In addition, JDM-spec cars don't have EGR.

I say buy one and let the haters hate.

You could be paying big money for a header thats no better than anything else, and they you will have to chop up/weld to get even an imperfect fit. Plus it will be bashing the steering column all the while.

Its a bit easier to fit a USDM header to a JDM 1.8. You just need an adapter to plug the large gap.

Question the motives of people who give bum advice that results in people wasting their cash. This "haters" nonsense sounds so infantile, but maybe I am overestimating the age of some posters.

Thanks for the info! I was not aware of the cat differences. That is a bit of an annoyance, but not a deal breaker. I suspect I could just get one of my existing ones modified to fit.

But yeah, like I said, I would buy it fully knowing that it isn't the optimal solution.

You can make anything fit if you're willing to put in the work.
