FYI from some prior posts.. Bought a 2011 NC Touring PRHT, stock with 20k miles- new air filter and new tires. Dealer filled empty gas tank with Regular gas, driving from dealer in JAX and later adding second tank of Regular, Loren from another site was correct in saying the MX-5 will run just fine or 'normally' without knocking, hesitation or other 'obvious' issues. Gas mileage was just under 26-28mpg depending on how much was highway vs city. Hating to pay the extra money, I decided to go to manufacturer's suggested Premium gas.
Well MX-5 DOES run even better, faster acceleration, etc. Gas Mileage? Running 29mpg (worst tank) to normal run of 30-33mpg. It is close to a wash in cost of gas in $$$, so this driver has been staying with Premium gas. JAHO (okay, not always humble but you have the info). Free stuff is ALWAYS worth what it cost you. davzway
