Well, it's not official unless you guys want it to be. ;) Should it be "Look what I just got in the mail" instead?

Generic switches, OEM dual foglight switch, center console lights, start button, chrome rings and white faces for my HVAC (to match instrument cluster) and a used center console bezel to wrap in carbon fiber wrap:

Super duper timing light and 5X timing wheel (yay...more debt! :veryembarrased Needed this stuff anyway)

Super test light, not just for power but ground and continuity:

Sometimes I'm a sucker for new parts even though the parts I have are just fine, in this case I'm changing my headlight retrofit setup to the latest TRS offering with smoked/clear shrouds and angel eyes. With the eyelids I'll have (GV en route to replace my IL Motorsport eyelids) I'm hoping it will be a pretty menacing look. If not, I'll change it. :)

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7165/6562178377_3b3af15b6c_z.jpg

After hearing quite a few NB2 owners complain about how they don't get the lighting they want even with HIDs in their projectors, I'm working to see what a proper bi-xenon retrofit will do there:

Eric the addition of the angel eyes should really look mean as hell on the car. It has become lower on my list since more important things keep popping up but one day you are going to have to build me a set for my car.

You just let me know when and I'll make it happen! :)

OEM dual foglight switch

For front and rear fog lights I assume? I ask because my Morette tail lights have a rear fog light and I like everything to be functional, so I've been trying to find out what is necessary to make it work on an NB.

What's wrong with that? My attic is going to collapse with all the extra parts. I must know more about NB2 HID upgrades. I already have HID but I've never seen a kit like yours. I also want amber angel eyes. Info? Interested in your IL eyelids too. I'm going to be baking my lights soon to turn them black but now I'm thinking I should wait 'til I get angel eyes, that HID retrofit and eyelids!

Yes, front and rear. I have aftermarket lights (Eurospec) with a single red foglight built in and I intend to make it work. I've already ordered a red LED and run the wire from brake light to center console. I just have to figure out the wiring for the dual switch. Not only does it illuminate when the running lights are on but there are lights-on indicators for when the fog lights are on. Are you looking for a UK dual switch panel?

Nothing wrong with it at all! My garage and basement are full of spare parts too, even after my recent move and getting rid of a lot of it. The only color option for the angel eyes right now is white, however, I think there will be more soon. I'm definitely working to see how much work will be involved in fitting these new projectors into the NB2 housings. If it works, the low and high beams will both be in the new projector (as they're bi-xenon), leaving the stock high beam reflector area open to add additional light to the high beams or nothing at all, all depending on how it's wired. By the way, I already have a buyer for the IL eyelids, but I don't think they'd work for you, they're supposedly only for 99-00 assemblies.

That's awesome. I guess I will need to be on the lookout for a dual switch panel to replace the single fog lamp switch panel I have now. FM was just supplied with a wiring diagram for the NB rear fog light, although it's in German. I've been meaning to email them to request a copy.

I thought I saw Hyper running around with some amber angel eyes. I hope you do a write up on your experiment because I wouldn't mind doing this if it works. I mean, as long as I have my headlights out and disassembled for paint...might as well. Hmm, the vacant high beams would then pose some creative opportunity. :indecisiveness: I'll look into the GV eyelids but $130? Damn... Has to be another option.

If you need a dual switch panel, look no further...

Oh, and I really really need those wiring diagrams, even if they're in German! Maybe we can work together on this?

You did, well, his are either amber or red, I can't recall. I'm not sure where he got his parts but the company I bought these parts from only has white currently, angel eyes are a brand new offering for them.

I'm guessing you have one then, how much?

Sure thing! I'll shoot a message to them ASAP.

atlnb
12-28-2011, 10:39 PM
Are those the same as the pro kit springs?

IanL
12-28-2011, 10:53 PM
I do not believe so... part numbers and appearance are completely different, though all of my googling has turned up very little definitive.

atlnb
12-28-2011, 11:49 PM
Do the part numbers include the number on the spring? That's probably a stretch. I've never seen this dampers though. Are they adjustable?

IanL
12-29-2011, 12:27 AM
Dampers are not adjustable. I have the kit and spring part numbers scribbled down somewhere, probably out in the garage... they definitely did not match up with the Pro Kit spring parts, but trying to suss out anything further from the numbers got me nowhere. Unless someone has the Eibach Secret Decoder Ring, I am pretty fine with "they were good enough for my buddy's SM, they are good enough for me"...

Yeah... they're ridiculously expensive. Lets hope you don't crack that gauge hood putting in the speedo cable. If you're lucky, you may not even have to take it out if you can reach where it clips into the cluster by reaching under and around the dash.

Oh mannnnnnnnn that's awesome.

Which Track Dog splitter is that? Was it easy to fit?

The more i see yours and Doppel's cars, the more i think i'm not going to bother trying to fix my lip on my MSM and i'm just going to do that.

Which Track Dog splitter is that? Was it easy to fit?

It's the Extreme version. The previous owner put it on but it lines up on the bumper very well. And it does what it's supposed to, it saved the bumper from a road paving dip and then popped off. I called TDR, got replacement nylon hardware, and put it back on.

Will it go any farther forward? I'm envisioning this with the turnbuckles. :)

RotorNutFD3S

Ah, like TDR's Radical splitter? Yeah, that would look pretty good, this splitter doesn't have much forward movement available so that probably wouldn't work out.

Everytime I see a TDR splitter I think TAP Plastics. Cheaper, appropriate sizing to actually function, and more robust. But that's just my opinion.

These are the very first set of Mg they made with one off offset, and PCD100 15x8.5 0 and 15x9.5 -3 !!

I have to see how everything goes, I might build another Pit-Crew with more old school flavor since I have everything for it here in state. I really wanted to run these on black PC but with my current big brakes I have to run 30mm spacers and it's asking for wide body or flares.

iRoadster
01-19-2012, 05:03 PM
Well there can't be too many flared Pitcrew cars in the states, so I'd say do that. Or put on some 1.6 brakes.

I have Endless 6/4 Pot brake setup on the black PC. I'm sure with 5mm or spacer they would have cleared 1.8 brakes. Even with my BBS I had to run 15mm spacer to clear my brakes.

yeah I see how it goes, I'm going to finish the engine department first and see if the slammed setup even works with power level the car is going to have and go from there.

Yes I do imports cars and parts. But it's completely for fun and I still look at it as hobby. If there is any type of income it goes to my own parts  which was my first intention for starting the business and mainly helping out friends, and it got bigger over the years. Now I'm US distributor for three Japanese companies and in average bring in 5-7 containers per year.

As far as what I do for living, I want to say a little of everything :fab: but I also have my dental practice.

Do you deal with stuff outside of Mazdas?

I don't want to make this thread about me, but yes that's what I have been doing since 04. I started with supra guys, but now mostly dealing with VIP scene. I'm US distributor for Junction Produce, Aimgain, and Blow Design. But having our main office in Japan, I can deal with any Japanese company. In my last visit in October I stopped by some Mazda shops and picked up some parts for my own projects. I haven't really imported that much Mazda parts. Mostly for my own two projects and some friends. Since I have only been modifying my own Miata for about a year and half.

it's my older brother's car, i drove it for a few miles on the freeway to KINOD6, and he was with me so I had to baby the thing. so I can't say much on how it really performs.
but regardless, seating position is nice(good bolsters), interior is well done. steering is super responsive. It'll definitely put Toyota/scion:roll: back on the map (making a fun car to drive and all)
If I had the budget, between NC and a FRS (give or take whatever difference it is)... I'd definitely pick FRS........ hell, it looks nice as is... you'd have to throw lots of money at a NC for it to start looking good.

the only negatives i can kind of say is... oem wheels are garbage looking lol (but the car is MADE for aftermarket wheels already, fenders are semi rolled from the factory)
it kinda has an awkward blind spot, but i guess i'm use to the miata having a hardtop with a window that wraps around the corner.
BUT the worst thing........ the wheel pattern is 5x100, :fp:

but with all the skeptics about it.... when people say "oh it needs 'this', and more of 'that' " and the whole comparison between the BRZ and the FRS.... I couldn't care less about it. I'm just happy that they finally made a car that is relatively cheap to own, and fun to drive = more money for aftermarket companies to stay afloat since there will always be that market of tuners.

but we'll see how well the car lasts since alot of it is new technology. I have a friend in Toyota RnD.... i'm not clear on his title... but basically he gets sent out all over the states to customers cars to see if something faulty needs to be deemed a recall or not etc.
