Lets hear it!

I winterized my MSM :( Gave it a nice exterior washing, added stabil to the tank and pulled it into the garage for its long winter nap.

Swapped out my jack and ashtray for pieces I got from The Parts Group (the original jack was binding for some reason, to the point where it would bend the handle). I'm doing to do the window switch tomorrow.

Took my dog for a ride in it. German shepherd/siberian husky mix, big dog, little car..

My wife wants me to take our Lab for a ride, she bought a harness to allow me to put her in. Just haven't gotten around to it yet (she had surgery about a month and a half ago).

I went ahead and swapped out my window switches, it is so nice having the correctly colored piece staring at me from the console. I just don't know if the one in the car was original or if it was changed at some time in the past.

My dog isn't really trained so I only had the window halfway down with the hardtop on. I'm hoping by summer we can go for drives top down without him jumping out.

chiefmg

If you go to PetSmart or one of those type places you can find the harness my wife bought. It allows you to tie into the seatbelt to keep the dog safe.

For the past week I've been trying to make this piece of crap fit . Last night I finally got it somewhat decent. What looked like ...oh "just needs a lil heat to bend it " turned for the worst once I noticed the ends didn't line up with the shape of the glass. I ended up sanding down material on one end and bending the other end outward. Got a few cracks after frustration set in. Bondo will clean them up. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE.(Chaser Aero Hardtop Spoiler)

I finally have all the pieces for my car to be fixed up. I am the frankenstein of NB Miatas. I have 10ae parts, mazdaspeed, and now shinsen. I bought a bumper, fender with the shinsen badge, headlight and a door.

Once the strut is fixed from tein, I can put everything together and start driving to a paint shop to paint the entire car. If anyone knows someone that can paint the whole car black and do a near perfect job, please let me know. My budget is about 1500.

I also purchased a GV lip today for nb2 since I have the conversion and a rsr exmagII exhaust, and racing beat endlinks for my jackson racing sway bars.

the wussy looking prong part of the cylinder apparently broke itself off and would no longer turn the ignition, so my friend helped me improvise with the little yellow bit we left hanging there. My interior looks like a warzone, but a new cylinder key set starts at like 250 bucks and I have no idea how to even swap the whole assembly.

You're such a ricer. I'm surprised you didn't just paint all your interior plastic yellow...

Seriously, it is your usual great job. That took a lot of patience getting the curves and edges to lay down. I'll be curious to see how well the vinyl stays on, especially in the FL heat. I've seen some folks do similar overlays in the past and they seem to have had issues after a bit with the edges lifting. I know 3M adhesive is good stuff so yours will probably be fine.

Just so I stay within the boundaries of the thread, I dreamed of mine today. Still have about two months before I head home. Then the wrenching begins!

Dliverance, Andrew, and I installed the RSR EXMAG II on my nb today. We installed the polyurethane exhaust hangers from moss motors as well to help with a stiffer hold compared to the stock from bouncing around. This is my first video. It doesn't serve justice but there are two to gather together what is sounds like.

What's wrong with it again?

Stumbles and falls on its face at any RPM, any throttle position, as long as it's over 7psi. I can shoot all the way up to redline at 6psi with no issues. As soon as it crosses the 7psi threshold, I almost headbutt the steering wheel.

I'm putting a thread together. Will link it when I'm done.

I have a fairly quick and easy method to do it, although I was told elsewhere that the tools required weren't something the average person would have on hand. Apparently they never heard of improvising. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures, but I got the old ones out in about 10 minutes per side and the new ones installed in about double that (took a little bit of cussing, I used the Mazdaspeed mounts and they are slightly oval as delivered).

I look forward to having paint worth polishing/shining/cleaning/maintaining! Kind of like a guy with no legs wishes he'd have the displeasure of maintaining toenails I guess.

I dropped mine off at the body shop today for a fullrespray. Same color plus shaving lisence plate holes, repairing my overzealous fender pull and the nasty business from when I got rearended by a Rav4. Haven't been so excited about a change in my car for quite a while.

Pulled a p0402 on the 10ae. I cleaned the IM last weekend. I cleared the code and rerouted the solenoid vacuum hose for the EGR for a stronger vacuum signal. Supposedly the bees knees for curing the 402 code. We'll see...

Those are yummy. What did they run you? And where did you get your rear spoiler?

$100, and apparently that's a great deal from what I've been told. They were in need of some minor repair and a good painter to remove what had been done and to paint them properly. I like how they turned out and how they look on the car. The battle is that I also like the NB2 tail lights with surrounds that I had on there.

The spoiler and lip were installed by the previous owner but sourced from a local Miata owner.

Do you know if it's a MSM rear spoiler? I want that type but they are hard to find, and if there is another source I'll look into it.

Yep, it's an OEM MSM spoiler. And yes, they are very difficult to find. I've been waiting for a while for one to pop up for a local friend.

Nope, they only offer the hardtop spoiler at present. If someone would make replicas of both the MSM rear and 99-00 front lip they would make a killing.

I pulled the upper intake manifold off last night. The EGR port was a mess. I spent about 45 minutes with a can of brake clean and a wire soaking and scraping. Looks like I got most of it out. There was nothing but a drop coming from the port behind the TB when I started, now it seems to run out pretty freely.

Up this weekend, plugs, plug wires, fuel filter and rear brakes. Also putting the hard top striker plates on and putting the hard top back on this weekend. Woo hoo!

edit:
M.net's write up on this was pretty good, but I had to giggle a little when the author admitted to taking 2 hours to getting the top of the manifold off. I won't knock anyone's mechanical skills, and he did say it was his first project and was a little afraid of it, but taking this thing off was not as much of a pain in the ass as it seems.

Private seller. I had bought one from corksport but being a poor college student at the time I had to sell it. Then I had another opportunity to get one so I took it. It's worth it if you're N/A

Finished cleaning out the EGR port yesterday. HOLY CRAP! There was a ton of carbon in that thing. Also let the wife spend some quality time on the lower half of the manifold with a tooth brush and some brake cleaner. She wanted to do it, so I let her have at it. After it was all back together I ran half a can of Sea Foam through the IM to get at the stuff we couldn't get too. The smoke out of the tail pipe was IMPRESSIVE! Also got the hard top side strikers mounted and put the hard top back on. After that I finally go to the rear brakes that have been rattling for a while. The pads were shot and the PO took the anti rattle clips out. New hardware and a whole lot of TLC and the car is running like a top. Going to swap the plugs and have to adjust the parking brake cable yet. Also have fuel filters to do on both of the 99's.

I swear some days it never ends.

^Haha dang, we're like twins. I've literally been doing the exact same maintenance things the past couple months. The EGR was definitely nasty. It's almost hard to believe that much gunk can build up in there.

Put my hardtop on since it's supposed to rain for the next few days and I don't feel like having water leak in through the seals. The hardtop brackets were being really annoying this time around though. Couldn't get things to line up for some reason.

Had a rear sway bar for my Civic hanging on the wall of the garage and noticed the other day that it decided to try to fly and landed on my passenger front fender. A pisser BUT... I hang out with a guy who does dent removal and said he'd fix me up for the price of his bar tab one night. Boom, done.
