Hello everyone!

We’ve finally convinced Jet Stream to make their headlight kits available for export market (their first goal was to keep it Japan only). It took a lot of talk with them and negotiation, but it’s now available!

http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y373/REV9Autosport/jsgb1_4_zpsfsprapjg.jpg
It’s a new design that will remove the whole pop-up headlight mechanism to save weight (they only weight 1.1kg each side) and improve look of your NA! It has both low and high beams, as OEM lights.

http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y373/REV9Autosport/jsgb1_6_zpseiq5935q.jpg(Please note final product is not flat black, but polished black)

About REV9 Autosport
We’ve been in business for 8 years and always have (and always will) been promoting original items of high quality. As a thank you for the whole Miata/MX-5 community, we’d like to offer the ORIGINAL Jet Stream Headlight Kit for those who’d like to own a very original and different from the crowd NA.

What’s in the box? :
-Headlights with bulbs (2x)
-Housing + small cover (2x)
-Wiring (plug and play)

What can also be included in the box!
Since the box is relatively big, we might be able to include some smaller parts within your shipment for free as part of the deal (shift knobs, accessories, lug nuts, etc.).

Pricing?
Now, the most important part, the pricing of the kits:

Retail (0) : $799.99 + shipping
Price (1-10 orders) : $699.99 + shipping
Price (11+ orders) : $624.99 + shipping
Price (50+ orders) : $624.99 + $25 gift card at REV9 Autosport + shipping

We are very confident of selling 11+ of these headlights, so we already put $624.99 price on the website.

Production lead time is ~3 weeks for 5 headlights sets, so depending on the number of orders, it may take some time, but that's the only way to keep high quality product.

Time frame to order?
Time frame of the group buy ? Until July 30th.

How to order ?
Ordering is simple. We require a minimum deposit of $75 dollar + actual shipping that can be paid on the following page:
http://rev9autosport.com/catalog/product/view/id/1499/s/jet-stream-original-headlights-group-buy/ (http://rev9autosport.com/catalog/product/view/id/1499/s/jet-stream-original-headlights-group-buy/?utm_source=mazdaroadster&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=gb-jetstream)
Please note that the shipments will be in order of the first orders PAID IN FULL. If you choose deposit, you are lower in line than someone who already paid in full.

Enjoy!

What kind of bulb do they use?

Are the headlights themselves for RHD only?Would we have to replace the lights to conform with LHD specs? Also, how do they adjust?

Can't image these would be different in JP or USA, should bolt right up.

Max, send me a set to test fit? :teehee:

I need to see more pics. What's the story on the gaps on either side of the headlamp?

The cutoff is different for LHD and RHD.

The cutoff is different for LHD and RHD.

You mean cutoff for the beam of light?

ozbrock

I believe he is referring to the cutoff for the beam of light. I daily an mk1 Ford Focus, and a popular modification is adding euro headlights. The headlights designated RHD vs. LHD do throw a different beam of light.

It seems to me that you would simply need to swap out the headlight to something US SPEC.

No need, they will bolt right up, grip Driver was talking about the light beam not the fitment.

They use H4 bulbs (same as OEM).

The headlights are adjustable. Even in Japan, each customer needs to adjust them because each car has the individual difference.

On both sides of a headlight, there are screws to change the optical axis in right and left direction. There is one more screw on the bottom which changes in up and down direction. You can adjust them by loosing or fastening the screws by a screwdriver.

The lamps themselves are made for right hand drive, so it will aim onto upcoming traffic, but I don't think it'll be a big problem at all. I ran some JDM headlights in the past on my cars and it's very minimal.

I think it's just a matter of adjustment, many pictures were taken shortly after install. Blue car is running prototype ones.

Jet Stream informed us that the yellow car was into an accident and same with blue car, which makes the small gaps. It would sit flush on car with no deformation, but not 100% guaranteed as vehicles have age now. On last picture I sent, you can see it can be fixed.

^ True. Beam pattern is exceptionally narrow, you can see a defined line on the ground, where the bucket blocks the light from throwing out to the sides. Are there going to be normal/white bulbs or just yellow?

edit: NM, could just pick up some white ones at the store

Pulled the pin on these during the REV9 group buy. The main purpose is to duct/ram air into the ITB's and it was impossible with the OEM popup lights.

The OEM setup (with FRP covers) weight in at 4.587kg each side, the Jetstream weigh in at 1.040kg.

What you get! Whilst the instructions are for non English readers they were not really needed. I ran a few copies of the template off so as to not destroy the one included. The kit does require you to reuse your existing H4 bulbs. I made the decision to not reuse the HID projector bulbs and go back to 'normal' lights. The Dapper lighting kit has already been put aside for somebody else...

I have not had a chance to align the lights and take them for a night time ride as the car getting ready for WTAC in Sydney.

The lights were installed into this, it has had a few more changes since this photo was taken (headlights of course, end plates and splitter just to name a few):
