Sometime during our garage sale on Saturday morning between 8 and 12.

Got to look over one recently. First time since the S2000 that I am tempted by a new car.

I can share some of what I did yesterday since Brian Goodwin and Emilio are talking about it.

We got to spend the day at Mazda taking measurements, removing parts from cars, measuring parts checking fitments etc. Did not get to drive one. Did spend about 30 minutes sitting inside one working the brake while E and B played with the front wheel fitment. I am 6'4" and have long legs... it was a bit tight between the wheel and console for me. But better than an NA or NB (never have sat in an NC.) Headroom was way better than our shop NB. I could drive one with a stock seat but would opt for a race seat if I buy. I would say it was about like fitting in an S2000 for me. But then I put a race seat in my S2000.

Some notes from the day:

If you want much wider rubber, plan on pulling/rolling/massaging and maybe flares. Good room for somewhat more rubber.

Front subframe is way more part of the crash structure. Replacing swaybar will mean removing subframe. Swaybar is a complex shape due to the power steering booster thingy.

Interesting water flow path again. Need to get one on track and beat it hard to see if it needs help.

15" wheels are pretty much out of the question. There might be some way to get them to work for a "look", but not for performance. Hellaflush perhaps. And forget about it with the Brembo brake option.

The Brembo brakes should be big enough for this car. Track time will tell.

Did not get to remove the interior. Real rollbar fitment may require removal of the soft top.

Same engine as the 3. Already have one and are looking to improve on it.

Also got to tour the basement. No pictures were allowed (not sure why, I have seen pictures of everything down there.)
