Looks way too busy, we need to cut it down by half at least :drunk:

Ever been to s2ki? They have, at last count, 10,221,998 subsections.

This place is not too bad IMHO.

I agree, not too bad at all. It's sooo hard to come up with structure because you just want to create a section for everything but alas comes the confusion. I think this one is pretty good but it's also brand new and can be tweaked over time.

forum rules guidelines and etiquette (http://mazdaroadster.net/forumdisplay.php?5-FORUM-RULES-%E2%80%A2-Guidelines-amp-Etiquette) can be a link in the top left instead of its own section.

same with announcements (http://mazdaroadster.net/forumdisplay.php?7-ANNOUNCEMENTS-%E2%80%A2-Forum-News).

the feedback, issues, complaints and suggestions (http://mazdaroadster.net/forumdisplay.php?8-FEEDBACK-%E2%80%A2-Issues-Complaints-amp-Suggestions) can definitely be moved to the bottom of the forum page (http://mazdaroadster.net/forum.php).

personal preference - i wish the bling section (http://mazdaroadster.net/forumdisplay.php?26-BLING-%E2%80%A2-General-Modifications-amp-Parts) and the performance section (http://mazdaroadster.net/forumdisplay.php?31-PERFORMANCE-%E2%80%A2-Modifications-to-improve-power-handling-and-braking) were above the lifestyle section (http://mazdaroadster.net/forumdisplay.php?20-LIFESTYLE-Living-the-Roadster-Life)

the rest of the stuff...people use all the time.

noted, nothing is set in stone yet, so just enjoy your stay and have fun posting in a fresh virgin forum LOL

at least to me.
another thing you can do is have smaller text with the sub sections right on the home page...
like this

i noticed the for sale section has sub sections...not sure what else does

For a forum, I don't think it's too busy. Randy knows how I'd like to see some of the sections set up....hopefully he'll relent to my wishes :)

Honestly, though...in my opinion the benchmark is set by wildly popular forums like NASIOC. Take a scroll down their main forum index and you'll see that this site is a lot easier to scan through, presently. That's not to say that we can't combine some sections that already exist...but I wouldn't cut down on the number of sections just to have less for the sake of less. More may actually be necessary.

Everything will get tweaked as needed. We're still brand new and adjusting everything in real time. Hang tight!
