1658616585Hello everyone!

I’d like to ask some help from the collective knowledge here. I’m currently engaged in a project to swap a BP4W engine/6sp drivetrain from a JDM NB1 ’99-’00 Roadster into my NA. Mike Gaite, who's here (Manila, The Philippines) on vacation, and I were able to acquire this front clip along with the transmission, rear diff/axle, fuel tank, suspension/crossmembers.

This front clip we got is rather interesting. The engine has the green Mazdaspeed plug wires. The transmission is a 6 speed. The suspension: shocks and coil springs are Mazdaspeed. The shocks in the rear have external reservoirs. The brakes are rather large and seem like sport brakes. Moreover, the foregoing special parts look like they were factory installed.

We’re wondering if the diff is a Torsen. However, the manner in which the halfshafts are secured is with 4 bolts, much like the VLSD shafts on the NA VLSD cars.

The bigger question is: Is this car some sort of a JDM Mazdaspeed non-turbo variant? If so, what is it, and what was the package called? And what all did it have in it when it was new? Here are some pics of the car and the special parts it has.

Hope someone can help me out. Thank you!165821658316584

A collection of cool parts in this car. Never heard of this, maybe it was some program to retrofit mazdaspeed parts?

JDM MK2 like that was the RS model. Google and you get more info. It would be a torsen diff and the 6 o'clock dials confirm RS model. Looks like a previous owner added some nice extras from mazdaspeed. I've seen this on other imports where a Japanese owner would do similar. Nice parts!

Looks like a Mike Gaite original to me.
