Hi Everyone! I was noticing the NB section has been a little stagnant. I figured maybe by starting this off we would get rolling. Also, I was pumped I just snagged a Hardtop!

So, I got a hard top!

Needed a clutch for some time, had my mind on an Exedy Stage 1 or a Competition Clutch Stage 3, paired with a lightened OEM flywheel. However, today this came up for sale and could not resist.

Thanks for the advice guys. I guess for now that's probably what will happen. I don't know how to repair it correctly, so I would probably just end up redoing the same thing.

JamieH

Clean out all that adhesive, whatever it is, and lay down fiberglass mat with resin. It's messy and sticky, and itchy and requires a mask when sanding (you really don't want fiberglass dust in your lungs). Really, it's super itchy so gloves and long sleeves are recommended.

Read up on fiberglass repair. It's not that it's difficult, just time consuming and intimidating.

Unless it starts showing signs of failure, do as others have said, leave it be and continue as you had before discovering the damage.

Third party as shipping also has to be handled, and most people/companies won't ship internationally due to compressed gas issues

Just bought some little things from japan auction for my little Bluestar

AWD vintage cover panel
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e30/portalcorreiappc/Capture5_zpsbzac8yjv.jpg

Mazdaspeed 3point upper front strut brace and mazdaspeed rear upper brace (never seen the rear anywhere, seems like ultra rare item ??)
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e30/portalcorreiappc/Capture4_zps7s78rxym.jpg

Just can't wait to put this AWD cover panel on my Bluestar gauges :bow:
Needle caps and gauge ring needed now to complete the set !

So you were the one who beat me to these braces right under my nose! :P They are not massively rare, but they are really nice! Produced by Carbing I believe, you can find that exact brace sold as Carbing, Mazdaspeed, AutoExe, and I am sure I am forgetting something.

Oh, and welcome! Do you have a build thread?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it!

hahaha , yes... guilty:oops: !! the last auction for the MS front strut brace 3point went so high a few days ago that i got frustrated, when i saw these 2 at such a low price with a "direct buy" option... who'd have resist ?

I knew that the 3point was originally produced by carbing and then stamped mazdaspeed, i was also aware for the autoexe one but only for the front... i saw many rear carbing but none stamped mazdaspeed... that's why i told myself that they are pretty rare.

Got my mazdaspeed wing back from paint today and reassembled it with all new stainless hardware! Unfortunately my stock trunk has too many mounting holes under the stock msm spoiler, and the factorybwingbhas rubbed the paint a bit underneath around the rear edge, so I can't install it on the current trunk.

Considering my options going forward... find a shinsen edition or se trunk in the same color without a spoiler and use that (damn near impossible, I welcome any leads), or buy a random spoilerless trunk and have it color matched, OR get a carbon fiber trunk from carbonmiata and use that (leaning towards this option, do we get a forum discount?)

Then I re-dyed the sun-faded existing top stiching:

After that I refreshed the seat color, wear spots. I conditioned the leather, added some UV and wear protection. I think I have about 12 hours into them, I think they turned out great!

I love mine too. I’ve been meaning to pull mine and do a similar restoration, maybe over the winter. The car these are going into is being painted red, so the red top stitching will pop nicely. I’m delivering them tomorrow while he’s away at Petite LeMans, he’s going to be shocked. He’s been hassling me to sell him mine, so I have been watching for a set like this for a while. :)
