Clutch pedal had a squeak going up and down. Running errands, looked down to see a lot of light blue plastic. Now the clutch makes a loud pop sound right at the very top of travel, both up and down. Assume it's related to whatever this was.

Squeak could be a few things from a dry pivot to a failing clutch master, even the clutch TO fork. That blue plastic look just like that used for the airbag computer and backup power for it.

That looks like the stopper on the clutch pedal. Mine broke also. If you look under the dash, you can push the clutch pedal with your hand and see where the noise is coming from. The stopper becomes brittle and breaks like that. I ended up using an interior carpet plug in the hole and it works like a charm.

I was thinking the same thing. If you want a replacement P/N is B001-43-029 and its about $2. OEM was blue but replaced with the black one that I think became standard with the NB (?).
