Bought my 2003 NB 3 months ago (first time owner) and basically finished with doing everything I was going to do with it (sans coil overs... that happens this summer) Anyway, shocks look fine but man if I hit a pothole I hear this thud/bang in the rear... is that a sign of weak springs (NB is set up stock springs and shocks (sport)) It just feels like the car bottoms out.
Thanks for any advice.

Springs rarely "fail" but if the shocks have more than 50k miles(most cases less) I can all but guarantee they are toast unless they are Bilstein's then maybe 100k miles out of those but even they usually fail before that.

I would not judge the wear of my suspension on the behaviour over potholes alone.
How is the suspension behaving when not surfing potholes? :)
If your suspensions are what came with the car from the factory, you have a good excuse to upgrade. :)
