Can this be retrofitted to my 90’s 1.6 to give it more power? But seriously, seems suspicious. Hum Hum!

I am not familiar with the Mazda system, but I imagine it is based on alternator control mainly. I know that Mitsubishi does it that way, effectively reducing the load on the alternator when accelerating/cruising, and increasing it during decelerating. Effectively, it is some free power and slightly better MPG, without a lot of mechanical complexity, so I do not see why not!

Video says the alternator free-wheels when the engine is under load then charges a capacitor when you let off the gas pedal. So, you are correct, Harry :)
