Anyone else still have items holding overseas due to the Corona Virus?

I have 3 items that have been holding in Japan since March now.

Also had some items coming from Malaysia that got held up for 2 months, (they finally arrived) however they just stopped EMS from Malaysia as of today Aug 3rd. :fp:
Ansy I have at least 50 Hotwheels still trapped over there.

Every country and delivery provider is a little different. Check the bulletins for updates. Some have suspended 100% of parcel shipments. Some are just seriously delayed. The delays are typically happening on both ends. Unfortunately, long waits are now standard. No one is guaranteeing delivery standards anymore because the global system is in such disarray.

2 months ago China had little difficulty exporting a small packet to me (was supposed to come from Hong Kong but was actually post marked from Shenzhen). Meanwhile, a package from England that shipped the same day took 6 weeks longer to arrive to me. I’m sure things are still just as bad today.

Remember, EMS is a hybrid service that uses both commercial carriers and the postal services of the sender’s and recipient’s countries. Most postal services are chronically under-funded and over-burdened. COVID has made this problem more acute. Commercial carriers have been significantly impacted due to the huge drop in passenger flights that form a crucial link in parcel logistics. This coincides with a huge increase in demand that dwarfs the Christmas season and Mother’s Day. All this in a system with little reserve capacity and little ability to meet unplanned surge demand. Things probably won’t improve for another year or so. I’m grateful we have food and toilet paper!

I have had several items(3 or 4) ship from China since covid19 started taking off in April and all of them took at least 2 months. Just bought two items from George at Garage5 a little over a week ago so we will see how long it takes to get here from the Czech Republic.

Yup. Last items on a shipping container took almost six months to arrive from Japan (they typically do 50-65 days)

I got some seeds from China so things must be working okay over there.

Update: My package from Garage5 in the Czech Republic arrived in New York early this morning so that makes 18 days from the date sent(07-20-20) to arrive stateside.

Not bad and I want to say that the last time(3 yrs ago) I ordered my Garage5 gauge rings it took right around two weeks to get to me from George in the Czech Republic.

Various experiences Down Under. Using UPS has been very positive/fast (both from the US and to Poland). Fedex was OK. USPS has been slow (around 6 weeks) while stuff from China is taking between 6 - 8 weeks. I can't get an item from Japan at the moment that I have been trying to get since March because of EMS problems. I have another order for some stuff from Japan that is yet to be completed that I hope will not be similarly delayed.

So who else on here has stuff held up?

My packages just keep piling up with an ongoing 30 day storage limit rolling over. :(

Yup, got stuff to be shipped too. EMS uses the USPS with shipping. I read about the head of the USPS being replaced and the new head firing several higher ups.
Apparently gov't peeps are not happy with the US postal lag time since covid-19. I am hoping that this does not screw with things even more.
Also, I wanted to place a Nakamae order, but no new orders are possible at this time. :(

Received my BSP/IL Motorsports rear subframe brace from Mx5 Parts in the UK that I ordered 07-29-20, was shipped 07-30-20 and received 08-17-20. So 18 days from the UK to Texas isn't bad considering the current situation in the world.

Still waiting on my package from Garage5 in the Czech Republic which hasn't shown movement since it arrived in NY on 08-07-20.

Just got a FedEx from Japan that left less than 48 hours ago.

I just found out USPS prices have gone away up, Priority anyway. Mailed something for $11 a couple months ago, now they wanted $60 if it wasn't in a flat rate box. I wonder if that will affect EMS in any way.

I ordered some wheels from Japan June 3rd, 2020 they were shipped and I was quoted 6-9 weeks and they arrived a few days after the 9 week in the beginning of August mark a couple days apart (2 packages) Shipping method was SeaMail so pretty much Japan Post to USPS. Thankfully I placed my order a couple weeks before shipping restrictions started taking place.

I also have a couple items in the a warehouse in Japan and from my understanding I was just now given the option to ship again via SeaMail instead of DHL only. So that's good.. just in time for me to not have the money. At least I still have storage time available hehe. I am probably milk the time to ship it out in hopes that the shipping situation globally improves. I am not in a rush for my items.
