Malibu Q, your car is so awesome. I'm not digging the tails myself, but I don't think they look bad on your car. Your MX-5 looks like something out of a Karuizawa meet, and the tail lights only add to is.

But they will be off soon, along with the Mooneyes wheels. Stay posted.

I think most people don't like the Altezza lights because of their association with "ricer" cars. If they saw them on a car as awesome as yours, they'd most likely change their minds.

I really like the Mooneyes wheels. I trust that whatever you get next will be just as awesome.

Got new tires for the SSR's and had my Mazdaspeed trunk and wing painted by Car N Bike Moto in Vallejo. Next is to finish the bumper cut, paint behind the bumper and put stripes on the car.

I had the GV tails for some time (collecting dust), just never had the right project car until this 94LB, yeah I really like the red tow hook that I have, but I did not want to damage the new aluminum radiator so, just leave the tow hook off or cut the grill and install it that way.....

Could just cut an opening for the tow hook in a grille. And yeah, the Corvette lights seem to be the hot thing to do with the GV panel. Seriously thinking about it for when I get mine. I keep looking for other possibilities. I saw some aftermarket '70-'73 Camaro tail lights I thought would be nice, but then I found out that because of how the Camaro lights mount, they would be too much trouble to make work. I also never found out their size.

Pro tip: Buy an impact gun. The ease and speed out weighs the cost. I read everywhere that the top two trans bolts were difficult. They weren't, at all, with an impact gun, single universal joint, and 12" extension.

I hate to admit it, but Shin gets his fair share of abuse. Being my daily driver, I've found an assortment of scratches and small dents that weren't covering Shin when I got him. I can only imagie have come from careless people in parking lost.

I know the concerns a DDing a car you try to keep as mint as possible all too well. I've found myself trying to convince myself that this or that was already there and I had just forgot about it. I also try to remember that it's part of the cost of driving a car everyday, of getting to enjoy one as much as possible.

I think we all want ours cars to stay nice and mint and never fall to the folly of others. But a car that has been driven and enjoyed as intended, is far more interesting than one that was treated like Rapunzel.

CCR SCCA Autocross at ZMax, the site is incredible and HUGE with an interesting smooth surface (sealant) which made the car LOOSE! I should have disconnected the rear sway bar after the first run but I thought that I could drive around it and adjust tire pressures/damping to bring it back to neutral. It helped but as you can see in the fourth run the car was still a handful, tons of fun but unfortunately not tons of fast... Although in fairness 34th out of 230 isn't bad considering the amazing level of talent and car prep that was at this event.

Operation unrice the Miata had a successful start today. Removing the sideskirts revealed some bad news. The PO installed the skirts in order to hide (not fix) the rear quarter panel RUST on both sides. But the car looks a hell of a lot better now even with the rust. I can get that taken care of once i get the car ready for paint. Found OEM front fenders in Triangle, VA, which i will be picking up Monday for a good deal, much cheaper than i had planned on spending buying new. Now i just have to find an OEM front bumper.

not as nice as the above pics, but i laid down a spraypaint guidecoat on my bodywork for the third time today - there better not be anymore highs or lows after this one! also, took the headlight out to determine what size the bulb was - getting yellow bulbs for a little more vintage illumination...

Thanks! Slowly making progress... Not trying to spend a lot of money, (though VERY tempted!) but I am supposed to be saving up for my mazdaspeed6 engine rebuild :( lol. Need to get the rusty rocker panels cut and new metal welded in. Then I can paint the car. Coilovers and wheels are so tempting (and cheap) but that's all money I should put towards the speed6. Ughh

my wheels are legit rare 4x100 15x8. the front is +19 and the rear is +6 if i remember correctly. i have a 5mm(or something like that) spacer for the fronts to be able to clear the brakes though.

no idea on tires honestly. i cannot remember at all.

most likely going to swap them out with some RK-Rs sometime in the future though.

ah, i wanted to know cause they look great and i need bigger tires but have no clue what size to go for... my coils are slammed - i scrape my frame on most driveways, but i still have fender gap! haha, it's cause i stretched 165/45 on 15x7's. i love the stretch, but they're just too short. I'm thinking 165/55 but idk. btw, the car is pretty filthy, but the front end is still relatively clean since the paint (why it looks better, lol)

I always loved those Zoom mirrors and wondered how well they worked on LHD cars. I also really dig the M2 center caps. I might have to make a vinyl decal replica of those to put over my standard Panasport center caps.

Yesterday I went to my friend's shop about 15 mins away from me and they let me work on my car there (i can't do much living at an apartment). I painted the two fenders and mounted them to the car.

Only took me a few hours doing it all myself, taking my time and little breaks to shoot the shit with the guys while they worked on a friend's car. It was definitely a fun project.

Only thing i regret is i totally could have painted the front bumper since i had to remove it to replace the fenders...but i didn't even think about it until i put everything back together. So stupid haha.

Anyways it looks SO much better with the OEM fenders now. The front bumper does not even look bad with the OEM fenders...if the guy I am supposed to trade bumpers with falls through then i'll keep it and put some fog lights in.

Washed the car today, removed the rear fender flares, and added some "evil" eyes with electrical tape lol. I'm keeping the flares in storage in case i need them in the future when i get 15x10 wheels for the rear. I will do it the right way and cut the fenders and put the flares on...not what the PO did and just bolted the flares on without even Rolling the fenders lol.
