If you've ever had to replace your torn ball joint boots, you know it's sometimes a pain to get the new one seated correctly without tearing it too.

Instead of tapping the edge with a hammer and screwdriver, just get yourself a deep 1-1/4" socket from Autozone for $7 and put your troubles behind.

While a 30mm-32mm socket will work, the 1-1/4 fits even better; not too snug on the boot and not too loose as to let the hard edge of the boot sink in.

It holds the boot perfectly enough to load it with grease and then install without damage.
