So me being a cheap ass and the fact that i like doing things myself led me to this project. i had access to free 9006 buld HID's and i decided to convert them to my H4 housings and wiring... it was much easier than expected. I personally am going to be doing a custom low-pro set-up soon so im not worrying about high beams at the moment but to all others... *WARNING* this modification does not allow the use of high beams!

So to start off i cut off the original 2 prong plug for the 9006 HIDS to convert it to the 3 prong h4 bulb wiring

Well obviously you can see that the bulbs are different and so are the mounting "circular pads" for the 9006 is much smaller

To make them fit we must get rid of these tiny tack welds to remove the outer "ring" from the h4 bulb

I used a small dremel with a cut off wheel to grind off the little welds and let the ring slide off

And as you can see the 9006 bulb slides right onto the H4 mounting "ring" pretty tight but as security i used some epoxy (jb weld would work) to bind the bulb to the H4 ring

Using a test light, i found out that the 3 wires on the H4 wiring includes the black (ground wire), red/black (low beam power) red/white (high beam power)

(Refer to 1st pic) Splice the red power from HID box into red/black wire and then black wire on HID box to the ground wire then replace bulb into the back of the original housing

Like always when you do a wiring mod... tuck your wires away!!!

And enjoy the brightness!!!

Pretty creative/inventive solution, but what does the beam pattern look like?
