View Full Version : EGR Block-off Question

So... while replacing my turbo manifold on my MSM, the EGR fitting was found to be cross threaded and will need to be replaced. Naturally, this means replacing the stretch of tubing from the intake to the exhaust manifolds. Not really a problem to do... just would have to source the tube. $50 or so from the dealer. Whatever.

My question is this... I'm running a Hydra, I would rather block off the EGR completely. I have sheet metal and gasket material that I can block off the intake manifold. What size bolt would I need to plug the exhaust manifold? Any idea?

Thanks in advance for the help.

M22x1.5

I read the MSM port is the same as the 99-00

Also read that thread and pitch is the same as the oil plug for a 1996 DODGE RAM 3500 PICKUP 5.9L 359cid L6 DIESEL MFI Turbo. Might be able to find one at an autoparts store.

If the EGR port was cross-threaded, you may want to chase it with a tap, first.

Well... it was cross threaded on the old manifold. New manifold never was used.

Does anyone happen to have any ideas on where I could get a cap for the 94-95 egr fitting? I'm guessing still 22x1.5, but a cap? Racing Beat used to sell them, but I can't fins them on the site any more.
