I'm testing the waters for a set of 3 Super Mario Bros prints. Each is printed at 7.75x7.75 in to fit a standard 8x8 pre-cut mat. The water mark at the bottom will not be on the actual print. Signed and dated. I only have 3 sets for sale at this point to see how much interest I can generate. Might print more if there is enough interest. $35 shipped within the US.

Thanks man! I still have the 2 sets left. The person printing these for me moved away so I lost my connection with a large format inkjet printer. After these two sell I probably won't be able to make any new prints for a while till I find someone else that can do them for me. PM me for paypal info!

where do you get your frames at?

smaeda
08-04-2012, 07:41 PM
Michaels or Hobby Lobby has them pretty cheap. Anything with a pre-cut mat of 8x8 will work. If you cut the mats your self, it has to be exactly 7.5x7.5 since the art is printed at 7.75x7.75.

I'm hoping to but I still need to find a new person that can print them for me. The person who did my last set moved away, and there is no way I'm having a generic shop do a laser print of these. The only piece I have left is a single print of the Yoshi Coupe.

I have my old Canon iP6700D that I could boot up for you haha. It's 400dpi.

smaeda

Do you guys have a Michael's? This is what I used for mine.
http://www.michaels.com/Classics-Black-Scoop-Square-Portrait-Frame/fr0585,default,pd.html?start=26&cgid=products-framing-studiodecor

They always have sales on their frames and you can usually get them for 11 bucks or so each.

I got 8" frames with a 4" matte at Michael's and threw the matte's out. $10 each, I'll post pics soon, I've been busy.

Those are pretty sweet, but how about the legal side of things?
I can imagine using those images is at least some form of copyright infringement.

That is a grey area, and pretty complicated since there is so much fan art out there. I've been following Jed Henry's Ukiyo-e Heroes project and he says it's legally permissible if the form is approached from an original angle, and makes a comment on the original work's nature.

As a fellow artist who has sold work, I see no infringement in these. Most are flattered by fan art, it's good publicity for them too.
