so my 99 NB with 112k is eating oil and pleanty of it I've driven about 2k mile and its eaten about 1 qt of oil (10w-30). im planning to do a engine over haul but i dont have alot of expereance with 4 cylinders i can rebuild v8 tuboed cummins engines beacuse its my job. does any one have and tips/ references before i start this project? i expect to take my time since its not my DD. any help would be awsome.

im ganna try doing my valve seals first and see how that works out....

Check your PCV valve before you go ripping shit apart.

Smoking on startup = valve stem seals

Smoking on accel/wot = rings

Leakdown andcompression tests will narrow it down.

yeah i still have to do a compression test on it as far as what ever mazdakart said isnt always the case..
