old stored shocks precautions

I am getting around next week to fitting some Racing Gear shocks (Corn's setup); these are high end shocks, basically as new. Only they have sat on the shelf in a workshop for 10 years. Is there any precautions I can take with respect to the seals etc, because they haven't been used in so long?

Oil or gas-charged?

Oil, as far as I know

They might be ok...

In terms of being 100% sure before you install them, you'd want to drop them off at a place that does shock rebuilding and have them just rebuild them, unfortunately.
