It's a bit too warm outside to be working on anything, I'm bored, and NASCAR doesn't start for a little while. So... here's my other car, Project: Two. Technically this should be number one since I bought it way before my other Miatas, and then I guess technically it should be like number 11 since I owned a couple Civics, MR2s, a 944 Turbo, a Del Slow, a Thunderturd, and a few other cars before this one, but that's beside the point.

This NB has been my burden/pleasure to own since July of 2011. I've owned this car longer than any other car I've ever owned, and although I get mad at it and considering selling it every day, I doubt I ever will. This will be my eventual track chassis once I feel I've learned how to drive in One and retire that car. I currently daily drive this car despite its ability to hate me and constantly have some minor issue on a daily basis.

The paint is very faded and scratched up and the car has a lot of door dings from previously being owned by a San Franciscan, but it seems to run alright and put up with me constantly yelling at it, breaking it, and throwing tools at it. There's a lot of stuff I'd change if I had the money, but I don't, so I just think about how nice it could be and how it still isn't. I hate the muffler, the paint color, my ugly front license plate I don't want to remove because the holes would be uglier, the suspension, the fogged up headlamps, the GoPro stickers I can't remove without damaging the paint, and the missing badges. But overall I still love it 60% of the time, every time.

Here is the minor modification list so far, the car is nothing fancy so please cut me some slack. I'm not as baller as most other people who modify their Miatas:

-99 Touring Package (I think)
-OBX header
-Aftermarket clutch (previous owner installed it, forget what it is exactly)
-Magnaflow muffler
-OEM hard top
-"Shaved" emblems (thanks thief)
-Stubby antena
-Foamectomied driver seat
-Sony CD player
-VooDoo black textured shift knob
-GarageStar 4" shift extender (I run this maybe 50% of the time, depends on my mood)
-Soft top delete with carpeting (previous owner did this and did it nicely)
-MazdaSpeed front brakes
-Endless pads all around
-Stance GR+ coilovers 8k/6k
-MazdaSpeed front sway bar
-Flyin' Miata rear sway bar
-TRMotorsport C3M 15x9 +36 wheels in gray
-225/45/15 Hankook RS3 tires

This is what the car looked like a couple days after I brought it home. At this point it was Tonka Truckin' with 15x8 +25 Enkei JSpeeds and 205/50/15 Dunlop Star Specs. It also had this ugly lip that the previous owner made from a VW or something. The car more or less stayed like this for about 6 months.

Then I bought some 949racing 6ULs in silver from a guy on craigslist. They are 15x9 +36 Gen2's with 225/45/15 Nitto NT01s, and although I sold the set of tires that were on those wheels to a friend and bought new NT01s, this combo now resides on One. The silver and mariner NAs belong to my two friends. The guy with the silver one was the original Miata owner of us and convinced us all to sell our Hondas and get Miatas for tracking instead. Best decision the three of us have ever made possibly. Car was still Tonka Truckin' with that ugly lip though.

Then I finally got off my lazy ass about a 2 months ago and took the lip off, and fixed the ride height. This is how the car currently sits as of today.

I hope to accomplish the following in the near future, and eventually this will become my new track chassis once One is used up:

-Better suspension, probably Konis and Ground Controls, can't wait to sell these Stances
-Replace the radiator with an all aluminum one, the OEM one is getting a little brown
-Get real 15x9s or 15x8s, the TRM wheels do the job, but I'd like something a bit lighter and nicer looking for daily driving
-Attempt to remove the ugly stickers without damaging the paint more than it already is
-Respray the front bumper at the least, maybe the whole car
-Get better seats for aggressive driving, probably just knock off bucket seats
-Get a rollbar in there so I can take this to the track if One is ever down for a while
-Race ported naturally aspirated 13B swap? I think yes, but probably distant future

Well, that's Project: Two in a nutshell. It's a pile, but I don't make enough money to support One's maintinance and track time needs and modify Two on a regular basis.

I got my driver side window fixed this morning finally. It would stick about 1/3 of the way down. I took the door panel off to discover the cable had become unclipped from the door skeleton and was getting caught under the glass. Clipped it back into the skeleton and now the window goes all the way down again.

Sounds like a love/hate relationship with the car. Mostly love
