Hello All,

Thought it was about time I re-introduced myself state side. Based in England, outside London I have been into MX5s for well over 14 years since I was at uni. During that time I have had around 40 roadsters (all imports).

I kind of had a collection going a few years back but sold my Pitcrew Roadster and Corns Tuned Roadster to fund a attempt to build a RE Amemiya Wide Arched Bridge Ported RX7 (Wont be doing that again, sick of them).

Now back in the Roadster scene in the UK, still got my silver Tuckin 99 N2 FM2 Turbo car Ive owned since 2007. Also bought back a MP62 Supercharged car I owned briefly last year and added a whole load of JDM parts to that car.

Rather then start a project thread on each, thought it would be easier to show both.

First up the MP62 Supercharged Roadster. This car was one of my favourite roadsters back in the day on the UK scene. Sadly it fell off its prime spot and last year when I briefly owned it didnt have a chance to do anything with it. So this time round I want to restore it back up to its prime position but in my own style. The base car is a VR Limited, one of the last MK1s as manufactured in 1997.

It turned up looking like this (Didnt have the low offset watanabes on as I added those or the Garage Vary bonnet but you get the idea as I added both of those).

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/P1000160.jpg

Then it went down the bodyshop, had the bonnet sprayed up, added some TSI's, garage vary front lip and a nakamae centre console, JDM sun visors, some other bits I forgot about.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/P1000162.jpg

This car is now a show car so Im afraid no clean photos, next added some Recaro Kelvar seats from a RS Limited.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/P1000193.jpg

Last mod so far some RS Active Headlights.

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/Madabout5s/P1000197.jpg

Next up my Silver Tuckin 99 FM2 Turbo Car. I have owned this car this 2007, I wont list the whole spec but it is long. Here are some photos.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/P1000183.jpg

And most recent mod. Bodyshop Hayashi Flush Pop Up Headlights. These are only just fitted so need to play around with a few adjustments but to give you the idea. Not to everyones taste but neither is the car. However it does make me chuckle the alternate way to have pop up lights.

http://i48.tinypic.com/2h830om.jpg

Thats it for now. Plans for the cars are to get a Garage Vary Rear Light Kit for the green car when funds allow, one or two nice interior parts. Plans for the silver car is to maybe fit a tuckin 99 front lip spoiler I have (though car is so low, reckon it will get wrecked so holding fire for now.)

Thanks for looking and hopefully some names I know from the stateside in the past.

Yeah wish I had kept the corns car.

40 cars in 14 years? Wow that's awesome!

It was abit excessive. The ones I wish I had kept was the 3 pitcrews, my first turbo roadster, the corns car, my white r limited and the complete rs limited I had.

Thanks for the welcomes. I'm glad I never got rid of the silver car as when the rx7 was eating money quicker then i could earn it I did consider it. The hayashi lights were only fitted this week. Need to give the car a good clean and take some better photos. The wad gauge did get fitted, it went in my old red pit crew although I swopped it for a kg works item instead (and that car now lives with a enthusiast in France after I sold it t fun the rx7...)

Another part was collected last week, kg works dash mounted gauge pods. Third set I have owned, first set ended up going with my old Pitcrew to France while my other set now live on Gianni's car in Italy. Didn't think I'd find another set so please to do so.

Another roadster joins the family. I couldnt be content with just the Tuckin 99 FM2 Turbo Car and the Corns Eunos Roadster and now have collected today the Zoom Engineering Elan Kitted Roadster from Charles, a fellow enthusiast here in the UK.

Charles bought this car back in 2010 and since he showed it then when he showed it on MX5Nutz and from the other Zoom Engineering Elan Roadsters I have seen on the net was always a look I liked. They appear to be quite a rare beast as I have yet to see or hear of another fully complete Zoom Eng. Elan Kitted roadster in the UK, etc.

Therefore an agreement was made with Charles to buy this car earlier this month for some of my JDM whord of parts not fitted to anything and also some cash, which was suitable for all parties.

Before any photos of mine which needs some work here is some inspiration from Japan.

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/Madabout5s/zoomengredelanroadster_zps612924f9.png

One that looks very similar to mine in Japan.

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/Madabout5s/zoomengwhiteelanroadster_zps047a435f.jpg

And the car itself...

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/Madabout5s/zoomroadster4_zps1527ffa4.jpg

Spec List.

ZOOM lotus elan style front bumper
ZOOM lotus elan style rear bumper
ZOOM slim FRP bootlid (really like this part as it very subtle how it alters the shape and look of the OEM bootlid)
ZOOM rear lights
ZOOM wing mirrors
KG works interior mirror
KG works side repeater chrome rings
Black Leather seats.

Nardi torino wooden steering wheel gear knob and handbrake sleeve
15" smiths alloys with soft performance yokohama a539 tyres all round
Original mazda wind blocker
Billstein suspention with lowering springs.
Chrome heater rings
Interior rear aftermarket brace and harness bar
Stainless steel sill plates (never seen another set before like these, look a nice, not sure if JDM or custom)
Garage ohno rear brace bar
Either beatrush or mazdaspeed front engine brace bar
K&N induction kit
Cupholder ashtray replacement and I will also include a standard ashtray for the center console (the car has not been smoked in)
Runabout fuel cap

The bad news is the car until today had not moved in around a year so needs a MOT (UK annual vehicle inspection test), tax and general clean up as is looking a little sad for itself compared to those photos taken above by Charles around 2 years ago. However under the dirt and grime the paint looks good and this car repesents something unusual to the MK1 MX5 scene IMO.

So having got my mate to drive this back on his trade plates, etc on a 3 hour marathon (got to love how you can leave one of these cars parked up for a year and they fire up and drive like its never happened) it is now parked round my mates house and will get prep'd for a MOT, probably fit the SSR MK3s in the new year, give a deep clean take the project from there.

Bit of an impulse buy but I think with some TLC worth purchasing.

Nice! I don't remember seeing that kit - I like it.

I have not seen many of these, certainly not another zoom engineering elan kit in the flesh.

The kit was designed and built by Japanese tuner Zoom Engineering and a modern styling cue to the classic Lotus Elan.

Yeah I am a bit mad about mx5s hey mate! This one I couldn't really turn down as never seen another fully kitted zoom engineering elan car and was able to come to a deal with Charles, the previous owner that suited everyone. Once the SSR mk3s go on thinking that will make a big difference.

I think here in the UK we are lucky as over the years there has been a lot of eunos roadsters imported here from Japan. Whilst I've ordered a fair bit of parts from Japan I've also been lucky that parts and/or cars have popped up here for sale.

Few jobs done on the zoom kitted car today with the help of a good mate so pretty much now sorted for a MOT. Job done this morning:

1. Found out its got side lights fitted in the headlights (mini style) so the covers that MOT requirement.
2. Sorted the earth problem on the left side rear indicator so that's now working.
3. Removed and greased up, cleaned the nuts for the zoom mirrors so now they are moving a little and like the passenger side no longer sitting loose.
4. Sorted the passenger side door lock (wasn't locking before), needed door car removed and mech played with.
5. Removed nardi gearknob, this was fduked up and needed grips to be removed. Will fit another gearknob shortly.
6. Gave the car a wash (hadn't been done is year so better now but needs a pressure wash).
7. Removed rear cd unit (doesnt work)
8. Removed and put in dry cupboard passenger door panel (its gone damp in it over time).
9. Checked fluids (all ok).
10. Polished up a few items (beatrush/mazdaspeed strut brace, runabout fuel lid, zoom wing mirrors).

So will probably leave to January now and get a MOT on it but least some of the niggly jobs that I noticed when picking it up are now sorted and its in a position to go for a MOT.

Well seeing as another private collector in Sussex (a county in England where I live) who is trying to own more mx5s then me I thought it was time I got my arse into gear and buy another!!

This one is a real marmite motor, dare I say it horrible looking motor!!

Why did I buy it then?

I had seen it advertised on Nutz since the end of January and I remembered seeing this car while commuting into London years ago and also remember a spotted thread on it. It also has some heritage as was/is a Mazdaspeed 'B' Spec stage 3 supercharged model (although had been played around with to a large extent since under the engine bay. Before I posted this thread I went to find it again and brings up some various opinions.

http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=38375&hl=chessington#entry519749

Not sure about the Tomei engine but its definilty been played with. Dude who mentions this is correct as the vechile was imported by Power Vehicles.

I went to have a look at the car and it turned out Daren (Dazzaspeed on here) who owned the car works for Mclaren F1 as a Engineer and the car was nestled in the secure Mclaren compound in Woking, Surrey. Whilst I am not keen on the looks, the mileage is low (just passed 60,000 miles), is good body wise as been a second/weekend/track car and has been looked after during Daren's ownership with work at P5, Wheels in Motion, etc. Due to this is goes very well and also handles very well.

The good parts about the car:

1.6ltr Supercharged engine (not a kit)
TODA piston and conrods
HKS high lift cams
TODA adjustable cam pulleys
Ported and polished head
Cooling re-routed to allow avoid overheating piston 4
Uprated Radiator
Oil cooler
Exhaust manifold replaced and wrapped
Uprated Injectors (believe RX7 440's) and plugs
Stanalone JDM ECU (need to take cover off and have a look)
Mega loud dustbin exhaust (not sure of make)

Suspension

Aragosta 2-way adjustable Coilovers
10kg/8kg springs!
Adjustable poly bushes all round
Steering rack modded for increased Ackerman (manual rack)

Brakes

Rx-7 Brakes front and rear with Ferodo DS2500 pads
Master cylinders rerouted FR/ RR and Cockpit brake bias adjuster
Hydraulic Handbrake

Transmission

Mk2 gearbox
OS Giken single plate clutch
Cusco LSD

Bodywork / Wheels

FTO headlights
Bonnet scoop
16” Steinmetz wheels
Plus team dynamics 15” spares
Racing Beat bumper and side skirts
Zoom Fuel Cap

Interior

2x Bride Buckets seats
Full Rollcage
Drivers side 4 point harness

Passenger side harness
Pivot data logger (that displays AFR, injector pulse, accurate RPM. I have found little other use for it)
Greddy gauges – Boost pressure, Oil Temp and Oil Pressure

When Daren bought the car from Power Vehicles the car was claimed to have 220 PS (about 223 bhp). Essentially the car was built in Japan before being imported in 2006/2007. During the time in the UK Daren spent time and money improving the handling, etc and maintaining where necessary. Having driven the car I doubt its as much as that but certainly doesnt feel slow! Having a FM2 Turbo car making around 230bhp and previously a MP62 Supercharged car making 200bhp when dyno'd it doesnt feel much different to that.

Pictures speak a thousand words and explain probably why it had not sold previously!

The marmite front end with FTO lights. The bonnet scoop is really well positioned for drawing in maximum cold air

Yeah definitely had some money spent on it in Japan and been well looked after by the owner here in the UK who works for Mclaren F1. Will get more photos up once I have given it a clean and use again.

The suspension is very nice and with the other chassis and drive train mods makes it a very direct ride. I was getting used to it today but it inspires confidence when driven hard from the brief few power runs I got.

Got a chance this afternoon to play with the car as had some time to myself.

Got the new car out and fitted the new vintage door handles I bought from the local Sussex MX5 meet this morning from OnePaintedMan on here (thanks). A quick fix for now and really I need to fit new door cards with pockets for them to be spot on. However like my Nakamae door handles in the tuckin 99 car and corns car I think these look better and provide a bit more space in the cabin.

Here is a photo of them fitted.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8407/8842050280_3bf4507eeb.jpg

Next up as I have ordered a new front number plate I took the front number plate and holder off (as it was hanging loose).

Worringly I am starting to like the front end (as much as I can do) I think with the number plate off the front lines look better now. I will replace with a stick on number plate as mentioned. You can also see on the car now I have fitted some new wheels, 16' Rota Slipsteams 16x8 on rear and 16x7 on the front. I need this size wheel to clear the rx7 calipers.

Also took the car out for a run today and it did give me a few smiles on its ability to offer power all over the rev range and also the previous owners work on handling me its very nice to drive. With the modified engine, cusco LSD, uprated clutch its quite a raw drive and up there with my corns car but a lot of fun. Enjoyed it immensely this afternoon.

While out here is a video I took of the car on idle.

Cheers. Hope your keeping well. I was totally against the front bumper but until funds allow planning to live with it. However with the registration plate holder I am feeling more love for it. I think have a more suitable alloy wheel also helps.

Hope all of you on here are keeping well.

A few things done today.

1. Had a mess around with my mates MP62 Supercharged MK1 today. This is non intercooled, megasquirt ECU, 320 injectors car that made just over 200bhp on the dyno. The general feeling on playing with this and the mazdaspeed car today was they seemed pretty equal on outright performance but that the mazdaspeed car was more responsive (maybe this is due to the smaller charger??).

2. It was also fun following the MP62 car on the motorway as it popped flames out the exhaust and showed itself to be a hell of a lot quicker then my daily (TDI Passat).

3. One thing agreed is the Cusco LSD in my car is hash and the MP62's torsen diff is a lot nicer to live with!

On another note got a few jobs done on the Mazdaspeed car today while after hooning around in it.

First up fitted the stick on front number plate that came through the post yesterday.

http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2856/8913040617_ae6ed8f08c.jpg
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7408/8913040375_362fa9d109.jpg

Also got round to sorting the Mazdaspeed clocks in the car today. As mentioned when I picked this car up it has 240 km per hour Mazdaspeed Speedo that looks pretty OEM. Never seen this on a MX5 before apart from the white finish version I have in my Corns car but never the black version. However it had been messed around with on import and markers put to tell the MPH speed, see below.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7395/8749512975_813b71030d.jpg

I took the speed out today and sorted this out, I think it looks a lot better now and pleased to have them sorted

Not been up to much on the roadsters due to lack of funds and time being spent elsewhere.

However the mazdaspeed car now has a new stainless steel exhaust. It is a HKS Silent flow exhaust. I changed the exhaust on the mazdaspeed car as it was too loud on tick over (worse then the corns car which is saying something.) This exhaust helps make the car quieter on tickover (though you can still here the lumpy cams) but now still gives you a nice note when the car is on throttle.

Here is a photo.

So with the Mini gone a new project was needed. Basically I bought the Mini as I wanted something that I could use with my little boy as the two roadsters I have are two extreme (or maybe that is just me getting old?)

Anyhow with the Mini being a PITA I decided to go back to basics and have bought another mx5! This one is a late 1997 JDM V Spec (so I imagine one of the last of the MK1s). I saw it for sale quite a distance from home and bought it unseen. Luckily it had some nice parts fitted, was imported in 2008 so a reasonably late import, rust free and reasonably low mileage as 83,000 miles.

The spec list of the car is;

1. S2 Racing Front Bumper.
2. Pitcrew Centre exit Exhaust.
3. Maxim Works Manifold.
4. HKS Induction Kit with heat sheild.
5. RS Aizawa vented headlight lit.
6. Unknown JDM strut brace (looks a bit like the ARC version).
7. Tein Coilovers.
8. Momo Corse steering wheel on a boss extension.
9. Hard top and Soft top.
10. Razo Gearknob.
11. Barchetta Shorty Console (not fitted).
12. 16' alloys.

This is how it looked when I got it.

Anyhow this is how it looked but it soon changed abit thanks to a swop for some parts with a local mx5 enthusiast near me for some Panasport 14x6 Formula alloys, front number plate deletion and and a good t cut and polish.

So short term plans now are:

1. Find a decent passenger side BRG front wing as the one on it has laquer peel.
2. Fit a offset number plate holder and registration plate.

We see after that.

Perhaps remove the front blinkers. The front doesn't come that way from s2racing does it? Looks like stock blinkers just fitted to the front.

Good buy with plenty of cool parts :)

Yeah the stock indicators have been fitted to help the car pass the annual vehicle check inspection here in the UK without any issues as front indicators and sidelights are required. I plan to put the sidelights into the main lights when funds allow and then sort that issue.

OK so the green car is becoming more of a keeper. To begin with I was getting thoughts of selling for a mk2 rs import model but this car drives very nicely, has some nice parts on it and is rust free. Importantly though not a quick as the other two still has a lot of fun factor.

So some parts got added this evening. First up a 1.8 Arc Induction chamber.

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/Madabout5s/image_zps2c6094b3.jpg?t=1379007800

As this is mated with the Maxim Work Manifold, Pitcrew Exhuast and HKS Induction kit Id hope it adds some performance over stock. Couldnt really tell any differance but induction noise sounded a bit better (I think!).

Next up my first Russell (Vindi) Domestic Market product. I saw this on ebay and it is a Vindi fibre glass bootlid and ducktail spoiler. Fitted this outside in the dark basically in a field this evening (so a bit challenging) but here are the results. Car now need a good clean.

I think even with the shitty camera phone photos it works with the cut rear bumper and pitcrew exhaust. Kind of also balances out the front with the s2 bumper which has the front lip too.

Seeing as I couldnt make JAE here in the UK this weekend I have been busy with a mate doing some work on the green car. First up got a TR Lane GPX Roll Bar fitted.

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/Madabout5s/S2150920133_zps41158fed.jpg?t=1379251344

Next up a bit of a temporary job at the moment as need to get holes filled, replace indicator lights and tidy up the side lights (probably get some pilot lights) but removed the indicators from the front, put in where the sidelights were and relocated sidelights to the main headlights.

Kind of shows better how the S2 bumper should be.

Cheers Folks.

The S2 Racing bumper has a built in front lip so that will remain spoiler less. The T-House Clubman bumper on the Corns has a Trap lip while the Tuckin 99 N2 kitted car has a rubber Garage Vary Lip spoiler as anything made of fibreglass on that car lip spoiler wise wont last.

On another note I picked up these wheels on Sunday from a fellow enthusiast here in the UK. They are Watanabe RS8's. Spec wise they are 14x6 +25 offset.

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/Madabout5s/WatanabeRS814x6E25_zpscf6ccdda.jpg

For the wheel enthusiasts amongst you may be interested in this. The wheels that came on the car I thought were cheap UK autostore crap.Turns out they are Bridgestone beo ar.s-03 so JDM shizzle. They have some nice tread toyo tyres on them too so not scrap as I thought!

Here is a link.

https://www.google.c...4&bih=672&dpr=1

No good on a mk1 retro roadster and still nothing special but seems likely to have come from Japan with these wheels. I reckon on a mk2 roadster like a rs I keep on thinking about they would look alright! Especially as they are 16'

In another news I am hoping to get a nice JDM retro fuel lid for the green car shortly and will in the next month get the front bumper repainted, front passenger wing repainted plus look to get the right spigot rings for the RS8's plus some wheel nuts for them.

On the other cars the silver car may go into hibernation now for the winter while the corns car will soon be getting a major heart transplant done all being well!

The Kanspo painted white works really well with that race car shown above but I think the black works really well with the composition of parts you have on yours. It would probably look pretty funky on my car white or black, its too close to OEM.

Yeah glad with the colour choice in the end. Also a little bit of a middle of the road update on the green car I purchased recently.

I had if not mentioned already bought this as wanted something cheap, standardish to use with my little boy who is 2 years old and go to car meets in, etc as he gets older as the other 2 I have are a bit extreme. Promised not to do anything it but never works out like that!

Had some paintwork done on this car. Basically got the S2 bumper tidied up (reg plate holes filled, silly holes where the wrong indicators were fitted, etc), the rear bumper (had a few marks on it), rear mud flaps (again some scratches) and also the passenger side front wing (some laquer peel).

Been to Portsmouth today to collect the v spec I have from the bodyshop.

1. Front Bumper resprayed and holes filled (as mentioned above).
2. Rear bumper and mud flap resprayed.
3. Passenger side wing resprayed as that was in nice condition apart from the laquer peel.
4. The newish radiator that was in the Corns car previously installed in this car as the radiator in it was the original from 1997 so needed replacing.
5. New indicators fitted, the Mini pilot headlights properly installed so the side lights now come up on the pop ups and the flash to pass mod done.

Couple of updates today of parts sitting round the house but now fitted.

First up, advertised these but had never fitted them in a car so thought I would put them in this car to make sure they are working. They are Vileside (sorry Veilside) uprated rev counter and speedo set. Sadly a lot of the Veilside brand has taken a bashing for some dubious bodykits for Japanese cars over the years. In this case this speedo set is quite cool as re-calibrates the dials so rev counter works to 10k rpm and speedo to 280 kmph. Now they are fitted and working not sure if I will now sell them! Ultra rare and when I got them found reference to them from a chap in Japan looking for a rev counter to run his high revving engine but basically got told to look for these on Yahoo Japan but to not hold their breath in finding a set.

Really impressed by the replica M2 carpet console as it fitted perfectly and even has the locating lugs for the carpet console like the genuine version. I fitted it in the Corns car today as been thinking of a M2 radio console for a while now. To do the job properly I removed the seats and relocated the electric window switches to the glove compartment. Here are some photos.

Oh man, the RS Aizawa front bumper is my favorite after market bumper... my only concern with it is that you would have to paint the black stripe on the lower sections of the car and the rear valance to match a full color matched front bumper that has an incorporated lip. I love the look of the bottom sections blacked out, so I wouldn't know how to get around this.

Today it passed the 'MOT' here in the UK which is the annual government inspection test. The inspector said it was in nice condition, everything on the test worked as it shoudl so all good.

Well the silver fm2 turbo has been in hibernation in the garage since September 2013. Today given the good weather I have got the car out and gave it a good spring clean. I dont think I have cleaned the interior in years and likewise there was various old parts kicking round in the boot I have now scrapped.

Still need to give the engine a dress up but here are some exterior and interior photos for those interested.

Hoping another 2 weeks and it will be done (or at least progressed where I've taken it home but will still need more interior and exterior parts done).

No ideas why the hole was there but the bodyshop doing the work are not great fans of the pitcrew so nick named it the 'glory hole!' from porn movies!

Maybe they like it more when done.

What with the others taking up time figured I would leave this till the weather got nice and wam before bringing back out. However plan to tax and MOT in June 2014 so some summer use.

Reason for update is I have changed the steering wheel on the car from the Momo Team 300mm steering wheel I had on it to a Nardi Corns 330mm steering wheel. I liked the Momo wheel but wanted something a bit more retro but still quite small so my legs dont catch on the wheel.

Thanks. I prefer the interior in the silver car. Been buying parts for the interior since 2006/2007 back in the day when Retrorocket (Michael) was on the scene, etc.

Few more updates on the black roadster.

Met with a mate this morning for a long chat putting the world to rights and while at his a cheeky photo shot.

Yesterday these turned up from Japan. Zoom Engineering Door pockets and door pulls. Allowed me to do away with the 3 hole door pull that come with the s limited door cards as standard.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/image_zpsf99f2e37.jpg

Having got myself to a position recently where my house was turning into mx5 seat city I am now just down to 1 set of seats not fitted in a mx5 (from 3 sets) and now have a set of red leather s1 Elise seats in the black roadster.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/image_zpsb95eb17a.jpg

If you go to Furnitureclinic and order the custom leather dye DS2914 Red 30g, you will get an exact match for the S-Limited red. This mix was based on a swatch from the underside of my original S-Limited seats. Anyone can use that code for matched red leather dye (also same as Miata LE, R-Limited, not the same as R2-Limited). Those seats look great (I'm a bit old for that sort now) but look a bit orange.

Thanks Andy. I have to try that place out as the colour will be useful to have available for ongoing projects. The lotus elise seats are surprisingly comfortable.

They help sit me lower in the car and have my legs straighter. For a daily I think I would soon miss my leather armchairs in my daily but for what this car is about they work fine.

A few updates from a local meet on Sunday taken by a friend a showing my mates lovely Maruha equipped irtb car that sounds lovely.

Those look like non-probax elise seats. From my experience, the normal non-probax elise seats were pretty uncomfortable, it was like sitting in a plastic seat. I have never sat in a probax elise seat, but people keep saying they are amazing.

You guys are both making me feel young again! Not that I am that old though! I have had S1 Lotus Elise seats in this mx5, other mx5s plus my old s1 Lotus Elise. Whilst they are not like the leather arm chairs in my daily wagon I dont think they are that bad. Different if I wanted to do a coast to coast trip of the US but for weekend fun ideal. Having also had the S2 Elise seats dont think there is much in it. For me the seating postion is more important which these seats offer and I like how they sit you lower in the car which helps with being tall.

In other news, got these RS Watanabes sitting without a car for them as thought they looked nice! Found them for a mate who didnt want them in the end so whilst not cheap not going to easily find another set and perfect for a stock bodied roadster (something I dont have right now though :?)

I think a Trap lip on the Pit Crew could tame the overbite.

Not for me as none of my favourite Pitcrews wear a trap lip. Whilst I like the trap lip (and have one the Corns car) I am not convinced on a Pitcrew and think it would just get lost on a black roadster anyhow.

A new steering wheel arrived today from a fresh roadster import from Japan. It is in really nice condition and is a 330mm Nardi Classic suede steering wheel. I bought it as wanted a nice sized Nardi wheel for the black roadster.

Here are some photos. Been to Devon (a 400 mile round trip past Stone Henge and back) so fitted in the dark this evening after dinner so not the best of photos but wanted to try it in the car. The photo of it unfitted gives a better idea of the colour (its a black finish) but the flash on the camera changes that (especially tonight).

Ive also got the KG Works mirror in the Corns car and had the AC Cobra style mirror before. Of them all I think this is my favourite. KG Works is a close second but I like the finish of this part. I have this part also fitted in my silver car so I think this photo on the silver car describes the angle you talk about.

Met with Dan from Ardler Automotive this after and Dan was doing some Sunday overtime down at Ardler Automotive HQ. Ardler Automotive is a mx5 specialist here in England which luckily for me is only about 15 minutes from where I live. Bit cheeky but while I was there and much appreciated Dan took some time out to fit the cam cover AndyK had done for me from mx5nutz which is a red crinkle coated cam cover which has been smoothed to remove the Mazda lettering.

Good to catch up with Dan and talk cars this afternoon in the Sussex sun and also catch a glimpse of some of the nice cars he is building and working on for customers.

Busy weekend....

Met with Dan again at Ardler Automotive. First up sorted the blow from the flexi joint on the HKS exhaust manifold. Noticed it last week but it must have been gradually worse for a longer time period as after Dan welded in the flexi joint it has made the car noticeably quieter and you can here the IRTB's more again now.

In Sod's law one of the rear heater hoses sprung a leak, had noticed a fine mist from manifold last weekend briefly which occurred once. Had gone away so put it down to nothing but this weekend was pissing out. Temp fix done thanks to Dan and a second hand heater hose from a mk2.5 fitted. Will need to get it properly sorted with some silicon hoses like I did the front radiator hoses when they leaked earlier in the year. Whilst the black car is a nice little roadster its needed a fair few maintenance upgrades since I purchased end of last year.

Also went to the Bromley Pageant on Sunday for the first time on a stand organised by mx5modsters. Bromley Pageant is a large classic car show on the out skirts of London. Great show and thanks to guys like Matt and Roland from mx5modsters for organising a stand. I had to leave early as had family stuff to do but was good to walk round and see all the different cars. Attended the mx5 drive though on the main stand and rightly or wrongly had the black roadster compared to as a classic lotus by Fuzz Townsend of Classic SOS though he did say it was his favourite roadster on the tour round the so stand so redeemed himself! On some photos from fellow enthusiasts here in the UK it's probably the Lotus Elite he was thinking of.

^^ as you say in the states these are baller specs :D

Little update and hoarding of parts restarts. As mentioned fixed the HKS manifold on the car as got Ardler Automotive to weld in a replacement flexi so all good. However in between al of this happening I big thanks to Gareth (hooligan) as he pointed me in the direction of a badly advertised fujitsubo exhaust manifold on ebay. End result was I got a massive billy. It turned up and is in good condition (better then the HKS) and supposed to be one of the few manifolds that offer a performance advantage so plan will be to fit this and maybe sell the HKS or keep back as a spare.

More red hoses fitted today. This time the rear heater hoses replaced after the heater hose number 2 sprung a leak recently ad got a temporary repair to make Bromley Pageant with a mk2.5 second hand heater hose. New coolant all in too. First time I've tried doing these and didn't remove the coil pack so a few cuts and bruises getting the old heater hose 1 off as jubilee clip was a pig. So with the two new red silicone heater hoses that now goes with the radiator pipes that were also replaced and the radiator, which was also replaced earlier in the year.

Wimbledon is now on and tennis season has along with the World Cup now taking precedent on TV. With Wimbledon comes the rain and in between the storm clouds today I fitted a retro diagonal style bar that I had delivered yesterday. I liked this look of this in my old red Pitcrew and so decided on something similar for this black roadster.

Polished up, unfitted and a Pitcrew Racing logo added for good measure.

In other news the SSR MK3 came back from getting the centres redone with as near colour match to the original colour they came from SSR with and likewise one that will go with the black paint of the roadster. Also fitted some slightly thicker rear tyres so will look wider from the back. Waiting on some Hubcentric spigot rings to arrive and then will fit.

Thanks mate. I hope your keeping well and enjoying your roadster. I'm still impressed with the quality of the parts I got from you end of last year.

The tyres need sorting. Before I fitted the wheels I had them all rebalanced and some bigger tyres fitted on the rears (off hand cannot remember spec). Left the fronts as couldn't remember the specs but I've got too small as gone from a 195/50/15 (which needed to be slightly bigger before) to 195/45/15.

Thanks for the parts. The bespoke m2 replica console you did is really nice and I like it in the corns car.

I think your like Marc's flares. They are good quality.

Reference tyres yeah will do something on the front. Wanted nice chunky tyres for the rear but need to be careful on the front so it doesn't catch on full lock. Will probably go up a couple of sizes.

Ok so a bit of fun and games since last post updated today. Replaced the 195/45/15 front tyres with 205/50/15 (to match the back wheels). All was good and weighed up nicely. However went to move the car and couldn't turn the steering wheel much as the tyres were catching badly! Back to tyre shop with the wheels and 195/50/15 fitted instead and problem resolved. Updated some photos so think this will be the tyre sizes run.

Thanks mate. I'm happy with the wheels. I had already rubbed down areas where the 195/50/15s of the RKR's caught but this was actually rubbing on the front arch of the pitcrew front arch line so not an easy fix as was the kit itself. Was fine when the wheel was straight but any movement soon led to it catching badly so 195/50/15 it is.

Have you had any problems with the front plate. My S-Limited is due into the paintshop for a complete respray, toying with the idea of white on black stickie front plate, but then I had the misfortune of being pulled and fined for this plate in Watford

Normally this happens at petrol stations as anyone with a interest in cars will come over and want to find out what it is. Is very love or hate. A colleague who likes Classic Minis dropped me off yesterday and loved it said he wouldn't have guessed it was a mx5 unless I told him.

Hello Andy, hope your S limited is going well. Seems harsh you got pulled for that plate. I have some spare standard plates so will swop round depending on circumstances and if I want some classic photos of the car. I think the fact it looks like a old car gives it a bit of credibility anyway.

Such unique roadsters, Mad man. Other than maybe the size, it would be hard for the unfamiliar to identify your creations as MX-5's. I'm a fan of the Pit Crew Racing bar.

The S-Limited is ongoing, but slower progress than expected due to a busy international schedule.

The plate issue was my own doing. I had transferred the registration from my red roadster to that one in 2003, and just swapped the plate onto that car. But, the plate was made in 1998, and in 1998 was legal. But in 2003, I should have had a new plate made when the transfer occurred; small print in the regs.In traffic, a cop ran a routine ANPR rolling check, and it pinged back unreadable. The error is logged, so they have no choice but to stop me. Previously, it would have been a producer (fix in in 9 days), but thats all gone now. He had no choice but to issue an on the spot fine. There is no defence.

I may do the same as you, and have two plates, one for shows etc.

The CR01s will be going; looking at either RPF1s or Panasports. Already offered Watanabes, but prefer the Panasports.

Think Panasports would look good on the car. I like the work wheels you have. Colour I think works well.

Met up with Steve and James who live locally to me (and are as bad if not worse then me for collecting cars) midday today and got the first of some parts from them. Steve had in recently a nice car with some decent JDM parts on it (RE Amemiya strut brace, zoom fuel lid, KG Works ventilation panel) and some alloy heater ventilation rings which I believe are RS Factory.

Yeah medium to long term will be a red nakamae centre console with a it of luck to remove the standard centre console, trying to get hold of a bespoke radio console but its pricey to do at the moment. Won't be much else to the interior after that's done though I am thinking of putting the nardi classico suede wheel in this car to the corns and then putting a nardi classico leather with red stitching in this car with the silver/white spokes to complete the rest of the interior more.

Just noticed you don't have the S-Spec pedal covers, and have the later door tweeters.

Speakers had been upgraded at some stage so maybe door cards were changed then. Not really sure. The car has been in the UK since 2001 and France (South of Paris) for a while before I got it and surprisingly for a early(ish) import is pretty clean underneath. The chaps at gave it a good bash around for rust when I first got it and have it the all clear as did the MOT centre.

Few more photos James took (Wheelynutz on here).

A retro part added to the black roadster today on a trial fit as ideally needs a larger radio fitted and maybe a retrim on the leather section.

Its a bespoke radio console and centre console that started life in Italy a few years ago made by Gianni on here. It then got sold to Hooligan on here from the UK and ended up in a V Spec roadster owned by a nutz member. I saw the parts for sale and only after sorting a deal realised how had made them.

Here are some photos.

Centre console which I'm probably going to sell as want something different for the car.

Radio console:

And a quick test fit of the radio console in the car with the tan leather resprayed maroon red.

Thanks. Gianni aka OldCafe did a good job on this part and when he made it I was impressed. I messaged Gianni and said a small old world we live in that a part he made in Italy ends up with me.

Here is a addtional photo.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/image_zps57d32f86.jpg

Treated and recoloured the black leather on the tombstone and the centre console which I think. Still got a nice old leather feel and look but leather is now a bit more subtle to touch and a gloss back to it.

Ordered some more leather paint but this time too a satin laquer finish as think it needs another couple of coats (ran out of paint) and a laquer finish to give the panels a better result.

I have a KG Works meter panel in the silver car and the white car. It is one of my favourite roadster parts. I saw this come up 2nd hand on mx5nutz about the same time as Randy's review on here which was the deal breaker as figured it would look nice in the black roadster.

A few updates with nardi steering wheels..

The Corns car now has the nardi classic 330mm suede steering wheel it as opposed to the Personal wheel it did have. Personally I think the suede wheel suits the car better then it did the black roadster it came from.

The black roadster now as a Nardi Deep Corns 330mm leather wheel with red stiching and white/silver spokes so more in keeping with the look of the interior.

Few little updates.

Day off work today which started off bright and sunny so decided to take the Corns out and with a mate went to Autolink near Southampton. Primary reason was to get a nice run out and second reason was got the Cobalt Engine under tray fitted together with a mini check over (all OK) and the alternator belt changed.

As usual some photos:

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/image_zps99a3fdd1.jpg
http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/image_zpsae5c0e06.jpg

The cobalt engine under shield was in a recent Moss sale so I went there London office and picked it up while working that way recently. Needs to gets a bit dirty like the uprated ARB's. Always liked this part and the Beatrush item and the sale price swung the deal for me.

So jobs still to do on the Corns:

Few maintenance jobs like new front side lights (or indicators) as got some bad connections as units are old.
Still thinking fender braces at some stage.
lorry bed paint the interior as the hammerite finish is now a few years old.
Maybe a quieter exhaust and a track day.

On the wish list of possible change and probably a while off is maybe some Carbonmiata front fenders in carbon or fibre glass (so I would lose the vented front wings) and maybe lose the feed style skirts for a simpler look.

I wonder how that part will stand up in the UK.... The engine tray on my S-Limited is in a right state after Jay chopped it up. This tray might help hide the fact that the front subframe was used as a jacking point and is a little deformed. The Moss tray has no folded sides, so might end up acting as a collector for leaves, mud etc. My S-Limited is going through a few basic mechanical reliability crises not worth writing up. Currently carless, with the S-Limited haaving no clutch hydraulics (replaced the master and slave, only for the flex pipe to let rip) and the S-Special with a blown rear Puredrive Protech shock, 5 years old, and Protech now telling me they haven't made this shock for 8 years, and can't rebuild it.....

Hi Andy,

Hope your keeping well. I had been thinking of buying the moss part or the Beatrush part for a while. As mentioned what tempted me was the recent moss sale which knocked another 20% off. As I only use the car on good days I'm happy enough to run with this part. If it was a daily and used in winter I'd stick with the normal tray.

Surprised about the shocks? Have you tried speaking with Phil as imagine as they are his design he maybe able to help if spares are available, etc.

Cheers

Mk3  looks fantastic as always

Thanks. They are 15x8 0et. I'd like a slightly fatter tyre but not possible on the fronts.

In other news thanks to Mindsucker on here some parts arrived from Sweden today. I think it is great how mazdaroadster in particular has like minded individuals. I had lusted after one of the parts Victor was selling for a while so when I saw it come up whilst skint it seemed rude not to buy it!

Hence fitted in the dark after work today is a Nardi Classico 60th Anniversary steering wheel. Not the best of photos and the car needs a clean as is dusty as hell from the paint shop. However I really like the wheel, in particular I like the horn push as has a real retro look to it similar to the classic sports cars of days past.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/imagejpg1_zps8d000c04.jpg

And fitted. You will also see the new gear knob fitted too. It is a super short Joyfast gear knob and again bought from Victor (thanks mate). I really like the weight of the joy fast gear knob and have the medium version in the corns car so got this at the same time as the wheel. A plus point is the finish also matches the spokes of the nardi wheel.

Better photos will follow but I'm happy!

Looks right at home in there! Seems like the dark wood goes really well with the red interior. The classic looking horn button was actually one of the reasons i falled for this thing. Reminds me alot of the wheels of some of the 60's ferrari and E-types and goes really well with your pitcrew conversion. Look forward for some daylight pics!

Hello Victor, thanks for the swift delivery of the parts. I have taken some better photos today and also given the interior a good clean....

A day off work today so spent the day sorting some paperwork on the silver pitcrew so far as that leaves for a new home and gave the black car a good clean inside and a coat of polish. Also got some better photos of the newly installed parts. The Nardi 60th anniversary wheel I think adds a nice retro touch to the interior. Like Victor has mentioneded I am a big fan of the horn button push as it reminds me of the classics of previous generations. It adds a nice retro feel to the interior. Likewise the super short joyfast gearknob has a really nice feel to it and weight.

And some photos

I never intended doing a full pitcrew conversion with this car but projects never stay on budget in and walk of life when unplanned options become available. For now I am pleased with how the car is coming together as feel it wouldn't look too out of place amongst the iconic pitcrews in Japan which have long been my pin ups for this take on the mx5. Today also I took the car to a local meet. Some photos of mine plus other fives including a frogeyes roadster being built by a fellow low enthusiast which is now running carbs.

Yeah Dave the owner the Pitcrew has done a good job. I like how it has turned out. Together with the silver pitcrew I have just imported and sold plus the red one I am helping to restore for a mate there is some good examples being built here in the UK at the moment.

For me the iconic pitcrew roadsters have been versions like the creme white version, pitcrew demo car, BRG pitcrew that used to run the rs active bootlid, the Matt black pitcrew owner by a Nostaligic Roadster member, etc in Japan which is what I aim for.

In other news an update on my black roadster. This time a custom part I ordered a little while ago and a bit of a collaboration between Trap and Nakamae which I think maybe a first in this case. Photos don't show it properly fixed but its a Trap fibreglass top dash insert with Nakamae red leather covering, which along with parts from Zoom Engineering seem to match up the red interior in the LE/S/R limited models quite effectively.

Like I say not properly fitted yet but put it in place to see what its like. I like the leather finish as adds a touch of class :D

More JDM news updates. I have never seen these before in the UK or for that matter that often in Japan but I managed to source these brand new. It still needs final fixing and I need to get some 52mm gauges but my 'idea in the head' before' has come about how I wanted. I really like the change the trap dashboard and the new dash cluster has made. Like a porno studio in the car now.

I am not sure why less of these were made. I guess cost is a issue as wasn't cheap and its a made to order item. That and I think if a LHD option have been available would have served a far wider mx5 market. There is a tan version too.

Never seen that one. The rear pitcrew is from a B2 Limited that if I remember you posted photos of years ago.

Little update. Ordered and fitted (subject to wiring up) some Smith 52mm classic gauges in the interior.

Think they are the perfect retro nature for the interior.

I had some new parts arrive today in a nice Nielex box courtesy of Max at Rev9 Autosport.

Nielex alloy hand brake alloy cover and in a tiny part of the box some zeromotive alloy air vent knobs.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/image_zpscb76fd47.jpg

Will be going in the black roadster when I get a chance as think the handbrake cover will work better then the black leather gaiter and the zeromotive alloy air vent knobs will work with the RS Factory alloy vent rings.

Thanks for the comments. I have owned the silver car the longest (2007), white car since (2009) short of selling for a year and buying back and then black car since December last year (bought standard). All a little marmite but for me my inspiration is the old school Japanese Eunos roadsters so might are all built with that style in mind.

Fitted the Parts that arrived yesterday in the black roadster. The Nielex polished alloy handbrake cover is now on and better then the black leather gaiter it replaces as matches more with the other metal parts in the interior. Just now need to get a replacement handbrake handle. Likewise also fitted the Zeromotive air vent knobs which I am very pleased with as work nicely with the RS Factory Air vent rings and add to the retro feel of the cabin.

Some non visually effective photos but I am pleased with them.

Thank you. This third mx5 was never supposed to take on the same build proportions of my silver tuckin99 car or white roadster but best laid plans when out the window a long time ago.

I had thought of a polished handbrake handle but think with the Nielex handbrake polished alloy mech cover it would have been too much so thinking I go for something that will hopefully blend with the interior and show a symmetry.

Thanks Victor. Today I made some other changes to the interior in the black roadster which also meant the Corns Roadster got treated to some new parts.

In my silver car I have the Trap Indicator/Headlight/Wiper Stalks. I love this part and bought them back in the day so were probably were of the first sets if not the only set fitted outside Japan. Moving forwards a enthusiast here in UK with a keen eye for detail (Freaky Roadster) developed his own replacement Indicator/Headlight/Wiper stalks but this time totally in billet alloy.

Here are examples of the parts.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/360ad279_zpsafc3b44f.jpg

I had been meaning to get this part for a while and very impressed by the quality of the part and the finish. In the black roadster I have fitted the billet version with the engraved lettering while in the Corns I have fitted the billet version without the engraving as think this suits the raw nature of the Corns better.

In the Corns.

They only work if you have the 'straight' indicator/headlight/wiper mechanism but get them while you can as this is a limited run product only (which I have got in towards the end on as Freaky Roadster plans to only make a total of 50 items.

Some more interior parts fitted to the black roadster today that turned up from Japan during the week.

This time a nakamae hard top liner and a nakamae handbrake handle both commissioned in nakamae red to match with the S Limited/LE interior. Not the best of photos as weather is crap here today in the UK. Also in the first photo you can see the Zoom Engineering carbon mirrors that also arrived and are now fitted in the Corns roadster (token photo also shown).

At the moment that is it. I have also sold the RS Limited as logic kicked in I didn't need 4 mx5s so I kept back the red leather rs recaro seats and these are now in the black roadster while the elise seats got sold. Key reason for this was the colour match of the RS Limited red leather seats matches better with the S Limited/LE interior red.

Right now the interior is getting there in this car. Plans I am thinking about:

1. Some additional alloy trim items.
2. Get the Smith classic gauges wired in.
3. Some other retro leather items I think.

On the corns car also got some better photos of the Zoom Engineering carbon bullet mirrors. Photos don't really do these justice but very light weight and go well with the carbon Stout of Japan bonnet on the car.

Little while since a update on this thread (well a month).

In that time I have bought the R Limited MK1 NA8 shown below and today got on and fitted some new parts to the black pitcrew roadster.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/rlimited23112014_zpse620e4de.jpg

This week I had some fresh parts from Japan turn up. Not all mine as I helped some friends get some parts from Japan using contacts in Japan I have. This is what turned up:

What turned up was parts from Zoom Engineering and Nakamae. The parts I had were the Nakamae parts.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/JDMparts06122014_zps54c2ad0c.jpg

Today in the cold here I fitted the Nakamae alloy door handles and Nakamae seat belt retainer covers for a NA6.

As usual the parts from Nakamae have been good quality and easy fitment. I have the KG Works interior door handles in my silver car and got the Nakamae version for the black roadster to try something different and likewise had heard good reports on the Nakamae version given they are made of alloy and not plastic chrome finish. The Nakamae seat belt retainers are more a finishing touch for the interior but again good quality and a positive purchase.

More parts still planned for the black roadster, mainly a few interior parts and maybe next year I spend a bit more time on the engine bay, etc. and want to get a new red mohair soft top for it.

A couple of fresh parts arrived from Carbonmiata today. Yet to be fitted but some photos nonetheless. Main purchase was I wanted some alloy door cups to go with the nakamae alloy door handles seen in photos below.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/imagejpg1_zps7857e05a.jpg

Second purchase was something I had been thinking of for a while and that's some carbon door cups for the corns car as matches with some of the other carbon parts on the car like the stout of Japan bonnet, zoom mirrors, Ratsback door sills covers, etc.

Here is a photo of said parts, superb quality and looking forward to getting them fitted.

OK well the early Christmas presents for the black roadster and the Corns roadster got fitted today.

The first was (what I believe) a limited run polished alloy door cups Carbonmiata has had produced. I went for these as thought they would match well with the alloy nakamae door handles together with the other alloy parts in the car like the RS Factory vent rings, Zeromotive vent knobs, Freaky roadster indicator/wiper stalks. Nice part so thanks Marc for a quick delivery and another finishing touch to the retro interior for this roadster. Here are some photos of them fitted and think they work better then the black plastic door cups.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/madaboutmx5s/carbonmiataalloydoorcups1_zps5d5724af.jpg

The next part was the carbon door cups for the Corns car. As mentioned this car is more track orientated and already has carbon parts what with the bonnet, seats, door sills, mirrors, etc. so this adds to that theme as opposed to the alloy/retro ethos of the black roadster.

Thanks. I had a search around before getting the alloy door cups and could only find the IL Motorsports chrome version and Nielex chrome version. Main draw back for me on both these parts was the fact its plastic chrome and I wanted the alloy metal finish to go with the Nakamae door handles. I think the only other company to have done a metal finished door cups for the NA was Aerodramatics (if I have the name right) but they are long since discontinued.

Well a few changes in the mx5 collection as I sold the R Limited shown above as moment of madness advertised it and it sold within the day! As such I still have the silver roadster, the white roadster and the black roadster.

Got a small minor detail change done on the black roadster today. During the week I picked up some R Limited door cards (not from mine). Main reason for buying them is the top of the door cards didn't have the tweeter speakers fitted and given the retro nature of the inteiror thought it would look better without them. A little bit of faffing around today and now the s limited door cards are tweeter free while the R Limited door cards now do!

Thanks mate. Happy New Year to you! The tweeter speakers had been bugging me for a little while and then someone I know also mentioned it would be good to delete. Luckily enough the following week on eBay a set of R Limited door cards came up without the tweeters so the purchase was done, an exchange made and now I have a spare set of door cards in red for a R Limited (but now with tweeter speakers). Think the finish helps lose another more modern feature so worthwhile.

Are toggle window switches and a more retro radio next?

Toggle window switches are something I am thinking about. However I have ordered this month a 'classic' English registration plate. I don't know how it works in the US but plates in the UK are age related. The plate I have bought dates from 1965 so once fitted will be more in keeping with the styling of the car, etc. Will be a nice subtle exterior change once fitted and add a little more confusion to what the car is.

Pressed "show" plate? Lot more car-mounted ANPR cameras about, and they like rear plates, so take care. Got ticketed for this plate in Watford;

Very confusion law, because this exact same plate was perfectly ok on my red Roadster, because the car was registered in the UK in 1997, but the blue car was registered in 2000.....

Happy New Year Andy. Whilst it will be a classic 1960's registration it will still be standard UK plates unless I am taking some photos or at a show where I can switch over after driving.

Each state in the USA is different, some offer classic plates but the car has to be over 20 years old iirc. In Florida the states DMV offers something like 60 different vanity plates for your car.

In my state the car has to be 25+ years old and unmodified to get an antique plate. So no cheap plate for me next year.

Some new updates for the black roadster.

Firstly this part turned up yesterday. Its a Mazdaspeed NA6 Manifold. It is made by Maximworks and is to the same design as their NA6 manifold. I had been after one for a while as one of the aftermarket manifolds to show a known power increase. It is in great condition so when the weather improves I will swop over the HKS manifold fitted for it.

Next up got from a good mate a Cusco oil catch can which is now fitted too. This replaces the plastic apple juice bottle that had acted as the oil catch can since the IRTB's were fitted just over a year ago!

That's it for now. Waiting on some more juicy bespoke parts to be made and delivered over the next few weeks which will help with detailing on the interior.
