Hey everyone my car's about to make some ground-breaking changes to the Miata game.
It's gone from a stock daily --> stanced CR fanboy car --> wrecked car --> rough-edged track build
pics in that order.

I am currently building an engine to support a supercharger. I am building the engine myself and doing as much of the work in-shop without shipping anything out. I'm only a few months in to the engine, taking my time as its my first engine build. Bottom end is getting finished up, boring to 84mm on 11/6/12.

Build specs on the engine so far:
84mm 10.5:1 Wisecoe forged pistons balanced to within .001g
ACL Race bearings
Cleaned, reground, polished crankshaft
ARP main bolts

My car is currently in "the lab" undergoing some research and development. Should have it back in a month better than ever (;
Until then, updates on the engine build and updates from the lab!

They're for sale if you'd like. Perfect fitment with a roll and a little pull!

PLEASE tell me you actually cut your fenders for the flares... and not just "screwed them in and done" type deal

Good to see another Rotrex fan out there, though!

-______- sir, I'm insulted. Haha yes, cut the hell out of my fenders! Just decided to sell the wheels instead of relipping them wider.

I have a couple build threads on the various forums, Miataturbo, Club Roadster, etc.

Most of the engine build has been posted on Miata turbo but I figured I'd bring some of those goodies on here since a fresh new forum is something I support.

Heres the short block, I had already removed the head and put it in storage
http://imageshack.us/a/img832/7876/enginelongblock.jpg

I purchased some beautiful Wiseco forged pistons (84mm +1mm 10.5:1 compression)
http://imageshack.us/a/img805/2970/pistonse.jpg

I then balanced them to within .001 g of eachother
http://imageshack.us/a/img856/438/pistongrinding.jpg

I got my crankshaft completely cleaned, reground and polished.
Balanced the crankshaft
http://imageshack.us/a/img696/8201/crankpolished.jpg

I also balanced my Manley H-beam forged rods to within .01g of each other
Here's the two mated together
http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/6664/pistonsandrods.jpg

With all of the rotating assembly being completely balanced to such tight tolerances, and the planned valve train and headwork, I'm hoping to be able to safely rev to 9,000 rpm!!!! :slayer:

Here's some head progress after just a couple of hours of work.
Reconsidering the deal with KW, someone talk me into turbo:party:

Removing the valve springs was a breeze with this, also made me realize how light stock valve springs are.
http://imageshack.us/a/img822/5365/removingvalvesprings.jpg

Anyone want to buy my stock valves/springs/Shim-over buckets?
http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/5503/dissasembly.jpg

That don't look right
http://imageshack.us/a/img839/9209/dirtycombustionchambers.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img811/8219/hottank.jpg

Almost clean, time for the research on unshrouding and polishing the combustion chambers
http://imageshack.us/a/img692/181/cleanedcombustionchambey.jpg

Do these valve guides look modified at all? I feel like they normally protrude more? anyone have a known stock picture to compare?

Got some new pistons JE 84mm 9.1 , sold the Wisecos and replaced them with these instead
http://imageshack.us/a/img825/1125/jepistons.jpg

And finally got a SuperMiata Harmonic Dampener, once my ARP flywheel bolts get in the crank will be balanced and short block assembled
