Here is my current project. It's a 1992 NA6CE in classic red. The original plan for this car was to get it on track for as little $$ as possible. You can say phase 1 was complete, as I got the car out at SOW, Buttonwillow and Autoclub Speedway. Since getting my ass handed to me at every Miata Challenge event, I set out to make my car competitive in the MC street class. I got a little carried away, and now my car sits right in the middle of Mod class.

Changed my spark plug wires, added a TDR rad cooling plate and RB intake:

On an impulse buy, I bought a green/white oil temp gauge from the Renown GB.

Then I decided to record a video of my exhaust. Sounds like poop. :( And my car really needs a wash. I'm comparing how my car looks now to my previous pictures, and it makes me sad.

Do you have any photos or details on the Carbing subframe brace you mentioned? Car sounds awesome btw.

I'll get you some pictures the next time I have my car up on stands. It connects from the subframe where most subframe braces go, to the most rearward mounting point of the subframe to the chassis. I noticed a huge difference with it. It just gets loose after a while.

my reflections of the track day:

sadly, i must say this is my worst track day ever. although i did learn a lot by having to drive in the rain, i was nowhere near prepared or in the mental state for a track day (perhaps the previous night’s festivities threw me off my game). to start off, i did no prep work after arriving to the track. normally, after a drivers meeting i’m inspecting the car, and making sure my tire pressures are where i want to start for the first session. however, i did nothing this time. just let the car be how it was when i rolled up. something i really shouldn’t have done, because i was on a new tire/wheel setup, a new [to me] suspension setup, and a new, less aggressive alignment. i had no idea what i was setting myself up for.



even when i was on track, something was off. after watching my video, i noticed that i wasn’t even fully strapped into my seat. i knew i wasn’t taking the correct line for a lot of corners, but for some reason, i never corrected it. i don’t know what i was thinking. perhaps it was because of the rain, and the fact i knew my tires were pretty much useless? it could have been anything. all in know is that i left a ton of time on the table. all over the course. the car did not feel stable at all in the wet, and when we finally had a dry session, i didn’t get enough clean laps to clock in a fast lap and get familiar with my setup. i just didn’t have any confidence in my new setup in order to push myself. needless to say, i am very disappointed in myself. possibly my only track day of the year, and i botch it.

Other than that, no real updates for the car. I never fixed my ISCV because the Mishimoto radiator is so thick I can't remove my crossover pipe without removing a fan. And I'm much too lazy for that.

I really need to ditch these RS2's. I locked up on an offramp this morning.

I'm guessing he saw the shiny with the aggressive bumper cut and tried to nab me for illegal parts. He was kinda thrown off when he saw the full cage.
