Snake's NB Build

A couple of months before my 19th birthday, I was seriously looking into a car. I really wanted a MazdaSpeed 3 but did not have the money for it. So I looked into a Miata. I've been looking on craigslist for a few weeks and asking people on M.net (didn't know of any other miata forum yet) on what they thought about some modified miatas. They weren't too fond about them so I kept looking. I found a white NB with 90k miles and mods that I would have done too ( HD rollbar, koni yellows/H&R springs, wheels, mufflers). It was priced at 6.5k and thought it was too much. Two weeks or so later, I looked on ebay for miatas. I saw the exact same one for bid. Someone else made a bid for 5k so I thought i'll do 5.5k max and see if it'll meet the reserve. Next thing I know, I won and went to look at the car the following week. Bought it on the spot and asked my friend to drive it home (didn't know how to drive manual yet).

Since my car already had sway bars, I bought racing beat front and rear control arm braces.

I jumped on the RoadsterTuner motor mounts, didn't like the vibrations that it had so I swapped them out for MazdaComp motor mounts like 2 months later. Don't remember when but I bought front and rear RyokuRob tow hooks and a RoadsterSport 3 midpipe with high flow cat.

Since I'm cheap as hell, I waited until I could get a deal on new suspensions. I saw that chase was giving back $300 after I spent $500 within the first 3 months. So I got approved for a credit card and immediately bought Megan EZ streets. Took a couple of months to sell my old suspensions but in the end, I profited like $90.

Bought a broken GV lip from artcentermiata. Asked my friend to fix it up and I was shocked at how good of a job he did. (sorry I can't find the pictures) Also bought a hardtop.

Eventually I started to look at new wheels because I needed new tires. I spent hours and hours trying to find a cheap set of wheels that were 9" wide. Barely anything until I my friend mentioned wagenwheels. They did not have any in stock until more people requested that they make more 16x9 4x100's. I bought them immediately when they came in stock.

Went to my second autox in october of 2012.

During one of the runs in my first session, I spun out lol. Broke a brake line, lost all fluid. I was 2 hours away from home and didn't want to tow it back. So my friends and I called a few different places and had to have oriely's special order it. Took 2-3 hrs for them to get it in and I fixed it on the spot. Also made it in time for my second session :D

Looks good man. What did you do with the old lip?

I still have the oem lip in case the GV lip is not fixable


If anyone is wondering why I have bbs caps on one side of the car and not the other, it's because I wanted to see how they look like lol. The BBS caps came with the replica wheels ( I plastidipped them all later)

I wanted those wheels so bad but they never had the x9 in stock.

Also always wished I had a white nb. This car is awesome
