This is my first post on this forum, but I just wanted to say thank you to all involved with Miatapalooza 2013. From the organizers to the volunteers to all the sponsors, you all made this go off with out a hitch, I had a great time and am looking forward to Miatapalooza 2014!!!

Thanks for a great event! I met and got to talk to several real nice folks. I hooked up with the Miami/southeast coast caravan and we had a real nice run. I think everyone made it unscathed, more or less, despite truck tire tread debris going airborn on SR60. I got to test my ABS brake system on US98 during an unexpected short stop. The ABS worked great - the car remained perfectly straight and stable. I sold a couple of unused items, so my lunch and about half a tank of gas were covered. I didn't get a chance to see all of the cars - there were so many!

The highlight had to be the opening remarks by Jay Leno. :lol: Thanks everyone!

We had a great time yesterday. It was the first one I was able to go to, and even then, my boss was trying to get me to work, but I said hell no. All four of us had a blast, the weather was great, the cars were great, all the people were excellent (except for one idiot that did a burnout in the parking lot), and the dude with the 815hp drag Miata was cool and funny as hell! :lol:

And to Randy, Ron, Gavin and the rest of the MiataPalooza Gang, you guys did an excellent job and pulled off a great show. Everything seemed to run smoothly and as planned, everyone was happy and had a great time. THANK YOU GUYS for all of your hard work and dedication to a wonderful show! You guys even managed to grace us with excellent weather! How did you manage that?! LOL :mrgreen:

I had all the intentions to take a bunch of pictures, had my camera with me and everything, yet never used the darn thing. I was so busy oogling all the great cars, I only managed to get about six pictures with my phone... :|

Keen eyes might have even seen one yesterday on our table instaled on our display shifter :) ), and of course keeping up with our online business leaves me with very little time for anything else...

Alright, with that said, I'm getting back to the next thing on the list and heading back to the shop to install the new shifter bushing on my gray 99 (our street car display) and thrash it for a few weeks before we put it up for sale on our site! I'll add my thanks to Randy and all the volunteers. I had a great time, met a lot of cool people and saw sooo many cars. I felt like a kid in a candy store collecting ideas for what I can do next with my car.

One thing that stuck out to me was the sheer diversity of expression among three generations of a single car. From the neat as a pin, bone stock, white NA on steel wheels to the NB drag car(no other detail needed for you to know which car I'm talking about) to the tuned NCs sitting behind the registration table that taunted me all day :) Each car an expression of their owner and every one was cool in its own right.

The other thing that I have reflected on after each of the Lakeland meets is the quality of the people who were there. Friendly and cool, patient and appreciative, smiles on every face from the youngest to the oldest. The participants make the meet what it is as much as the cars do.

Thanks too to all the people who to took pictures. Cant wait to see more since I didn't take anything worth a damn with my phone - oh well.

I'd also like to thank everyone who attended for making it such a great event. Miata people are the best car owners in the world. I was especially impressed with those of you who won something that you either already had, couldn't use or wouldn't work on your car and gave it back so that someone who could truly use it had a chance to win it. Giving up a prize worth a few hundred dollars in exchange for a t-shirt and a hat so that someone who had a car it would fit on, showed true character and an appreciation for the community. And many did just that!

Well this year was pretty crazy, I was getting people asking me to add their name to the list from every direction, the 4 main forums, not to mention all of the PM's from 4 forums, IMs from facebook, and emails from the flyer.

The 2 days prior to the event I stopped adding names because I just had too many other things to worry about.

I went back today and checked all of the forums, facebook, and my email account and we had a total of;

377 Miata's RSVP :shock:

We had well over 330 Miatas attend the actual show judging by the name tags that we have left unclaimed, however I found a few that I saw at the show but never picked up their name tags because they arrived late. Most of the staff worked a solid 2+ hours of the event because folks kept trickling in, so after about 330+ we stopped counting Miatas.

I told the Miatapalooza registration crew to go enjoy the event after a while because we just could not wait for all of the late comers (after 2:30PM). And I have to say without the the awesome job that the Miatapalooza Staff did in greeting, parking, registering, and Kabel our photo guy there would be no way this event would have even been possible. Please please please make sure to personally thank them all when you see them! Even Christine from MossMiata was working with us at the event loading goody bags!!! And thank you to our member 93MIMI who just jumped into my booth to save me and my wife from the crowds at the MazdaRoadster.net booth !!! :bow:

I saw that car up close and talked to the owner but I never noticed that detail until now. I have a feeling you could look at that car for a week and still notice a new detail that would look awesome in photographs. That car got a lot of love from the photogs. The owner was a pretty cool cat as well.

Mazda NA should proclaim Miatapalooza as the official MRLS East event and host it at one of the big tracks (Sebring, Daytona or Road Atlanta). Us East Coast guys deserve such an event.

Porsche NA is smart enough to offer Rennsport Reunion on the East or West coast on alternating years.
