My latest Miata 1994 Laguna Blue (Runabout)

This has been sitting in the garage for a few months now, it was an automatic car with a bad tranny, so the first thing was to install a 5 speed, new clutch, LSD, timing belt and WP, hoses, and belts, with that done brought it home to start the weight loss, and add a few goodies. This will be my Laguna Blue Runabout. After the transmission change, and long overdue maintenance the Runabout is becoming a fun car to drive! More to come.

Please spray those wiper arms black!! ... even if you don't prep them and do it right.... just do it...its like, awww pretty blue...RUST , or sweet polished mirrors....RUST ...... lol, i mean you can ALWAYS go back and do it right later, RIGHT ? ..im sure it will clean up nice... cant wait to see the progress . lol... The wipers and wiper motor are coming out, not gonna have wipers, or a top, or carpet, and a partial dash of some sort, building a lightweight mountain roadster, putting in a rollbar, headers, Enthusa Exhaust, etc.....its going to be my "Runabout" everywhere Roadster! Working on my coilovers now......more to come.

Funny you say that. I just purchased a Laguna Blue out of Texas, with a black interior, and I was going to throw my '95 M edition seats into it. The upshot, they are LE red, and I know they would look smokin' hot in there. But alas, it isn't meant to be, I am selling the LB car and keeping the '94 black car, which has the seats in it.

Nice pick up with the Garage Vary headlight air intake lid. The LE tonneau coveragainst laguna blue is a dramatic look. I didn't realize the "Runabout" was naked on the inside. Do you have plans to do something other than stock on the inside or keep it stripped down?

I am just enjoying running about with nothing on the inside now, no plans to do anything other to the interior except a single sided roll bar from hard dog, and maybe a full fiberglass tonneau, I need to get side skirts, and my rear bumper lip installed, and maybe an R Package trunk spoiler.

Yes I got the exhaust yesterday, and installed it last night!!!!!!! Thank You!!!

Valve cover looks great. Amazing from where this car started from. This build is very inspiring. In my mind I've been putting together my own future minimalist very lightweight "Runabout." It wouldn't start until next year, but every time I check your thread, my mind starts drifting in that direction.

Started a long overdue project, I had a small amount of paint stripper left over so I used it, sanded and then put a small amount of polishing compound on, this took an hour. Should be finished by the weekend........

Man, you really had me studying the engine bay fastener washer/bolt combos and the mazdaspeed oil cap. The fasteners with the red washers are a real nice touch and I didn't realize that oil cap sits a little higher than most. The oil cap looks great with the polished valve cover. The great photography and different angles have me noticing and admiring the many subtle touches.

Thanks Dave, stock MAF that came with the Pit Crew Intake, stock ECU. The intake manifold is JDM without the EGR.

You put a lot of time into that Polished valve cover and intake manifold. I remember doing that on my 92 miata, it took me a long time and I had to do it in stages with the sanding, and finally using a buffing wheel.I don't think I can do that again, so Mad props to you.BTW, what radiator are you using? I'm looking to replace my radiator as well.

It's your fault why I have decided to finally start cleaning up my engine bay. I'm getting some ITBs and going polished and shiny under the hood as well! I can't wait to start and see how it all turns out! Need to get home from deployment first though.

Also, are you running the JASS headlights? Or a custom setup? I was thinking about getting a pitcrew front end, but if I can't find one for around $2,000, then I will be getting a custom set of headlights as well as some headlight intake covers.

This car came a long way, and the Panasports took care of business. I would say "keep up the good work" but there's nothing else to do on your car. I bought some used Panasports but it needs to be refinished bad. I'm waiting to get my Montego Blue re painted before installing the Panasports though.

Gorgeous . I love the offset too. Looks entirely purposeful and functional. What size and offset is that. Damn I want those wheels now on my car. I am looking to remove my enkeis and these wheels are a perfect look for the vintage theme I am aiming for together with the offset.
