So I have always had a Miata that leaks in the rain. It does not do it every time, But 4 out of 5 times my drivers seat will be soaked during a rainstorm.
At first I thought this was due to a poorly aligned soft top. So I bought a hard top, and now it leaks 3 out of 5 times. Is there anything I can do before I start replacing those stupid expensive weather seals? My butt is still wet from the ride in to work this morning

Is the water coming in from the top of the windshield seal? What condition are the driver side seals?

have you tried adjusting your latches? If its from the windows it could be that, the weatherstripping or your window guides.

It hardly ever drips in while I am in the car. When I am driving, the water seems to come in between where the hard top, the door, and the windshield frame come together. This usually drips on my knee if I am driving. When the car's sitting and I'm not in it, the water looks like it is dripping on the rear of the seat. It has rained A LOT over the last 24hrs, and my butt pad is soaked, halfway up the lumbar area, and standing water in the floorboard behind the seat.

Is there? That may be exactly what I need to do. They have always looked like they sit a little low

Watch this, it shows you how it's done, among other things:

I don't have a huge leak like tony but this morning I had a little bit of water on my seat. I thought maybe I didn't put window all the way up but will give it a few days before I try adjusting mine

Mine leaks from the spot between the door, soft top, and front window frame like what your explaining. I replaced the rubber trim around the door and it helps some but I think it the soft top weather stripping is the cause. I will replace it bit by bit. The door weather strip/seal ended up costing me about $160.

I get a leak coming in through where the weather stripping is cut half way along the window. When those Orlando rain storms kick up it dribbles in and then on to the side of my seat. My swamp ass is always uneven.
