Awhile back on M.N, FM's Jeremy posted a thread about a prototype intake that he'd put together, to gauge interest. I have it installed on my NB and was wondering if anyone else has it on their car; I'd like to hear if other folks are hearing a shrill whistle under partial throttle that appears to emanate from the secondary filter located mid-way up the intake, mounted on what I think would b a BOV on a turbo setup.

Here's a shot from the FM site.

I cut out a hole to feed it out of the engine bay, behind the bumper, in the wheel well, sort of. Keeps water from splashing on it and some debris away.

I generally don't like low air filters. AEM made something similar with a check valve sort of device that would open to prevent the main filter from allowing water into the engine if it were to become submerged.

I have a shorty intake on my Acura that whistles a bit at part throttle.

That's what this filter covers--that same sort of check valve. This CAI definitely draws cold air and keeps the intake close to stock length, so I accept the lower filter as a trade-off.
