Ok Randy, time to break out your memorabilia collection/knowledge. There was a poster of a 1997 yellow Miata, the caption was something like Got Hot? (the copy of the picture I have is small with low resolution). Has a different front bumper, large slanted rear spoiler, chrome mirrors, roll bar and (what I'm most interested in) five spoke wheels. Do you, or anyone else reading this, know anything about those wheels? I think they'd look pretty good on my car. Thanks.

Almost the same line I use at the bar. What's the problem?

:toomuch:
It just so weird seeing it as a slogan for Mazda. I couldn't help myself.

Yeah, but did it work?

Mazda has had some great tag lines over the years. Anyone else remember "Piston engine goes boing, boing, boing. But the Mazda goes hmmmmmmmm!"?

Still waiting on an answer to my original question though...

Looks like a winner! Thanks afc2112. It appears that wouldn't be easy given the five lug configuration. Oh well, the wheel search continues.

Looks like there is a RX7 hub upgrade in your future.

First thing in my future is an RX-7 hub upgrade for my RX-7. Then maybe the Miata.

I think Bill Wilner (MiataRoadster) was the last person I know of to have that kit (new in the box)?? But Monster Motorsports is still in business in California, and pretty sure you can still get those wheels.

V8 Drew has more info on the Monster Motorsports stuff.

somewhere in all my (printed) Miata media pages I have collected over the years I still have a catalog from Monster Motorsports. Ill have to try to dig it out and scan it this weekend.

afc2112 looks to have sourced that picture from the Monster Motorsports website. I've just seen it there. The sunburst appears to show good quality workmanship, especially if modified in 1997.

I actually found my MM catalog, but it is really a B&W pamphlet of the yellow roadster and some of the add ons. Also found a copy of Sport Compact Car (remember that anyone?) that has the MM FX-R in it. I cannot find my SCC mag with the yellow MM in it though:|.
There is on for sale on ebay - they are asking close to 40K for it.:

I like the trunk spoiler. AK's new Nascar spoiler is somewhat similar.
