So today while getting gas, my 2000 NB was backed into by a Dodge Caravan minivan. The damage is on the right front bumper and it seems the fender is pushed in a bit. The damage isnt to bad but its enough to bother me. I will be getting an estimate from my insurance.

Now what I wanna know is what are the aftermarket bumpers available for my NB? I believe since its a 2000 its a NB1? Theres a local place that sells replica bumpers for only $40 and the fitment is actually almost like stock so that might be an option. I was thinking if there were some aftermarket "rice" front bumpers that are flared/aggressive looking I will opt for one of those. Like a wings west battle or shogun you know...something Fast and Furious esque.

Thanks.

Okay found this extreme dimensions brand bumper for the NB, anyone have this or can vouch for the fitment/quality?
I heard good things about the duraflex material its made of, supposedly very durable/flexible like polyurethane.

Your car looks pretty clean, please dont ruin it with an aftermarket bumper. I would suggest getting a NB2 bumper instead.

Thanks, whats the difference between the NB1 and NB2 bumper?

And will the NB2 bumper bolt right up to the NB1 miata? Just wanna make sure.

If you get NB2 OEM projector style headlights aswell, it should be a direct fit. Otherwise you will need to trim some of the bumper near the headlights.

Check here (http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=78157) (This one has a lip)

NB1 (+nb1 lip):

Thanks for the input, ill consider the NB2 front bumper.

If that is the OEM r package lip in the last photo, I am a fan minus that grill insert.

Unless you want to change your headlights stick with the NB1 bumper.
As an FYI most of the aftermarket bumpers are NB1 and need trimming anyway.
I have the Duraflex Bomber bumper and the fitment sucks! I love the look but if that's not what you want don't bother.

Thanks, did some searching about NB2 bumper on NB1 and read about that.

I like the look as well but fitment would drive me nuts. I was tempted to get a miata replica bumper from my local shop for only $40 but the fitment around fender area has some significant gaps.

Decided on a stock bumper and gonna get the OEM lip as well.

Good choice.
I only got the Duraflex for the extra width to match the flares and stupid 0 offset wheels.

Yeah on thing one can always count on is OEM for fitment/quality.

I do think the Duraflex on a stock looking exterior is to much. If you have low offset wheels, flares, wing, aero, etc. then it would be be more complimentary.
