When I swapped my dash from the 1.8 to the lighter 1.6, I realized my crappy homemade aluminum radio blanking plate was not going to cut it anymore. The aluminum plate I had was extremely flimsy and because it did not sit flush, it exposed the ugly edges and openings around the radio surround. However, because my current 1.6 tombstone was modified by the PO for a double din radio... my options for a over the counter delete plate were slim. After doing some research and and looking at my options online, I decided to give Rick at RoadsterTech a call.

After speaking to Rick about my options, he let me know about some of the products he has coming out in the future *Had me drooling*.

We decided on a flush mounted HDPE plastic radio blanking plate.

After having it on my car for a few weeks, all I can say is:

This thing is freaking awesome!

*Build quality is extremely good.
*Plastic is very solid, with no flex. I choose the textured pattern.
*The edges are a tight machined fit and don't look like they have been cut with a tooth brush.

Although, its a fairly simple piece; you can clearly feel/see the attention to detail. I will be ordering from RoadsterTech again!

Hopefully they put some products like that on their webpage, I will be needing 1din (I think?) plate in the future and that looks great

That is usually called a radio blanking plate though, you still have your tombstone

I can also vouch for their quality of their products. I have a single din gauge plate. It is made of the same material and cut as precisely as Joker's panel.

held one of these in person at the last local miata meeting, its a really high quality product, solid and sturdy, not cheap plastic like the crap from China/eBay!!
