Hello all,

I have the black/tan interior currently and i want to convert it to all black. Where do you guys recommend that i start with this, has anyone successfully painted the panels or should i try to find some on ebay/part outs.

Thanks!

I got lucky with the interior swap on my old '96. There was a guy in the local club that wanted my tan in his '94 Laguna blue. I went to his house and we stripped both cars and did the swap. IIRC we started about 9am and we were finished about dinner time.

Interior swap will take some time, but well worth it.

Another option is DYING IT! Lots of dyes are quite good, my 911 had all tan interior and now it's alllll black. Really good quality too. Took me a few coats over a span of 2 weeks or so to avoid fading. But it's pretty good. :D

I'd suggest buying black panels/carpet. Dye might suffice for a little while, but over time it will start to fade or come off. Just keep your eyes peeled for FS threads and you'll find something cheap soon enough. Otherwise, I know there are companies that offer stock replacement carpet sets, but I'm pretty sure fitment isn't as good as OEM. So I'd say just be patient and keep lurking until you see a FS thread with what you need.

Wait, you actually want a tan interior? I was gonna say, nobody seems to like tan. I'd do it if I had a BRG, but that's it.

i have a 90, with the original black panels with the removable plastic speaker covers, however, i recently picked up a set of 95 M-Edition tan door cards. i was thinking about dying the tan section so that it better matches the rest of my black interior with a process called "Vinegaroon" (google it!). i'm a week into the brewing process now, but has anyone ever heard of this and tried it? i was planning to test it out on the folded leather tabs on the back of the panel just in case it actually doesn't work out.. but i wanna know what some of you guys think.

SEM works great for interior work. Just follow the instructions.
