Tomorrow morning I am taking a two hour road trip to pick up a hard dog m2 rollbar. I am picking it up in my Miata. Not installing it there. I am going to remove passenger seat to hopefully get it to fit with top down to get it home. Anyone have any suggestions.

Get a few big, fluffy bath towels. Throw them in the passenger seat.
Drive. Pay. Get rollbar.
Drop the top.
Turn the rollbar upside down and put it behind the seats. Pad all the plastic surfaces with the bath towels. That will protect both the bar and the interior.
Drive home.

That looks like that will work. all except I'm 6'2 I did foamectomy just so I can drive the car with my long legs. Just how much does the seat need to go forward to make a roll bar fit.

I've done it myself. :) It works great.

As for seat travel... not much. Just wedge it in there. You only need to make room for the thickness of the main hoop.

Thanks guys I just got home. Round trip was 225 miles. Drive there was fine. return trip not so much. I transported the bar by flipping it upside down behind my seats. I had to move seat up about 3 inches and that three inches had my knee bent weird the whole drive. so I am the proud owner of a used hard dog m2 rollbar for a price of 240.00 plus the cost of half a tank of gas. In a couple of weeks I will attempt to get it installed.
