Figured I'd beat Bryan to the punch and get this started. Anyone hitting up Fuel tomorrow? I got her washed today, going to put the powdercoated VC back on tonight. Missing one hood lift for now so I might not be showing anything off.

That`s a pretty far drive from me. Anyone from up near Oxford area?

I think you'll do better in the Oh-io! thread Jess started for that area.

Oxford is close to Cinci... about 35-45 minutes northwest. So I figured I`d post in here!

My mistake, I saw you had Cleveland for your location and thought it was a suburb up there.

We sort of met in passing at Fuel back in June (IIRC). It was one of the last times Matt (eleven) was there, I tend to not interrupt people when they are talking so didn't introduce myself.

Affirmative. He has a pearl white 2 now. He liked mine after driving it (with 5 people in it!) bought his own haha :)

He was talkin to me about parting it out and then next thing I knew he sold it. Unless I misunderstood?

I think he parted some of it out, I bought his Thompson oil filter relocation kit (which I am probably going to now sell).

Good. I only used it for a couple of hundred miles. Remember I mentioned having problems with the hoses, I do have enough spare hose to make up at least one new one (all you need as only one of the ones I made leaked). I bought it on a snap decision, realistically I don't change the oil enough for it to be that much of a pain plus with my HID installation I have a ballast sitting right where the filter mount goes.

Oh yeah...I had the same thoughts you did (not changing oil often enough).

So since I'm still here for this weekend, Fuel anyone? Last I checked the weather is supposed to be ok (although with all the rain who can say?).

Day/Time? If I can get my car fixed (fuel pump in route) by then, I might be in Cinci for a tie and to check out a truck

Any idea what side of town you'll be on?

I am staying next to the university. If you're down by UC, I suggest parking your car somewhere near Ludlow Avenue (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=ludlow+avenue+cincinnati&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&hnear=Ludlow+Ave,+Cincinnati,+Ohio&gl=us&t=h&z=14) and simply walking in a restaurant. They're all pretty good.

Here's a list (http://www.cincinnati.com/freetime/stripsearch/ludlow.html) of places :)

While you're down there, have a stop at the Esquire Theatre (http://www.esquiretheatre.com/)!

I figured no one wanted to hear me count down days until the baby's due

chiefmg

Why not? It's what fathers-to-be do. You do realize if the baby comes on Mother's Day there will be some years where you will have one of those awkward situations of two happenings at the same time?

Fuel tomorrow, I was hoping to be on one of my bikes but it doesn't want to start (probably due to sitting for several years).

Busy day (including a friend's daughter's birthday party and taking my mother-in-law to the airport) :(

im in for cincinnati area get togethers...trying to find some stuff going on in the area.
been into VW's forever and always loved the meet's and get togethers, but they have
really started to die down in the past couple years. bought the miata i currently own
about a year ago, immediately began to mod and tinker, my parents have had a their
miata for a good 8 years or so, and knew i wanted one one day, finally found one
worth the coin, so i jumped on it, want to start getting into the culture a bit

Welcome! There is a gathering at Fuel on Saturdays for cars and coffee, there are usually some Mazdas there (lately there have been quite a few VWs). I'm going to be out of town the next two weekends but I'll be there after that.

Fuel peeps! I'll have the Miata there as it seems as though I have finally taken care of the overheating that reared its head once I got the supercharger aligned.

Fuel Saturday for me, unless the MP62 decides to throw me another curve. So far so good, since I got the crank overlay pulley spacer.

Looks like I'm stuck on here until sometime in December now. Just hoping there will be some warm days once I get home, I need a Miata fix! Hell even if they aren't so warm, as long as there isn't any snow or salt on the roads I'm out there.

That should answer your question. Long story but the gist is I'm not getting relieved on time. And it's a ship dude!

Oops...sorry about that ("ship" v. "boat" debate--I always forget which one is more appropriate). When you said "on here", for some reason, it didn't occur to me that you meant "on the ship" instead of "on the forum [because you were bored]".

Yeah...my mind works in strange ways.

It's all good. I'm "that" guy who always has to correct people when they get it wrong. Just one of those pride in the job things. Rule of thumb is that a boat will fit on a ship, but not the other way around. And I completely understand you mind working that way, so many people do come on forums and talk about how they are bored. Trust me though, if I'm home there is plenty available to keep me from getting that way...

Bumping things up. I've got a little longer left at home, won't have the Miata fit to drive by the weekend but hoping for Fuel the following week if the weather stays nice.
