I'm thinking of redoing my interior sometime over the winter and am playing with different ideas. One of those ideas is having alcantara on some parts of the interior but can't quite put my finger on what setup would work the best.

Some ideas I had were the crash pad and pads on the doors in alcantara, as well as the shift boot and parking brake boot. If I do install my center console, then the lid of the center compartment as well. Door cards would either be rewrapped in black vinyl/leather or redone in black textured abs type material, deleting the armrest.

Another option is completely doing the dash, but I'm concerned about keeping that clean with all the dust that settles on the dash.

Post up different ideas/pics!

Some examples I've found on the internets

Just the gauge hood (NA8 dash but it gives the idea)

That last pic is mine.....I also have the shift boot, ebrake boot, and headliner in alcantara. Custom NB door cards will be covered in alcantara as well.

You can see all 4 in this shot.

That looks great PacMan!

I'm thinking of changing my steering wheel out for one that is alcantara as well. Still getting ideas together though. I don't want to have too much going in there.

I may do something similar on just the upper dash of my NA. I've had some material laying around. I like the idea.

Hi,

If it might help you, here is what I am doing on mine (to quote myself from my build thread)... You could do any shape on the door card you want..principle is the same - quick and easy to swap out interchangeable inserts :)

Update 2:
Started making the door cards (again). Fancied something different, just cos. SO done this... I am making a leather insert with diamond/quilt stitching..

All a bit fiddly, but pleased with it so far.

And to make sure it all lines up with the crash pad at the top

If anyone wants to know why I am doing it like that.... I did think about it.

The inserts will be fastened in with velcro... it means I can make a variety of inserts if I fancy a change and just swap them around without making whole new door cards.. they should be a nice snug fit and will level with the rest of the door card.

So far I am making black leather with quilt, red leather with quilt and black suede with quilt...
