I've been trying to install a radio for sometime now but always put it off because my wiring harness was cut by PO. After some research, I decided on installing just an aftermarket amp and using my ipod. But before I do that i wanted to remove the a/c controls to access the bose amp below it. Below are the two (of three) cable wires that need removing in order for me to pull out the HVAC controls. Any tips on removing this would help alot.

I've read people removing them without any trouble, so i must be doing something wrong. Also just for confirmation, is the circled portion in the pic below the connector for the bose amp? I figured that I should at least unplug the unit in the meantime.

Thanks in advance!

I was able to remove the cables very easily from the opposite side of the cable wires. I guess for future reference, maybe someone else might want to remove the AC controls. Just undo the cables (one on driver side, one passenger and the final behind the glove box).
As for the bose amp, i removed the 4 10mm nuts and wiggled the amp out through the glove box area.
