Here is a BMI chart for those of you that want to save weight and inches the cheapest way.

Body Mass Index (BMI) Chart is typically used by professionals to give you a quick indication of your body weight status. BMI is calculated as follows:
BMI = weight in kilograms/(height in meters squared) OR
BMI = (weight in pounds/(height in inches squared ))x 703
For example: if your weight is 160 pounds, and your height is 68 inches (5 feet and 8 inches), then your BMI will be
BMI = ((160/68*68)) * 703 = 24.32

I'm on a diet since the wife is. I am 5'4 at 218 lbs. I WANT to be at 150? I just got on phentermine to help kick start the weight loss. (Yes, it is prescribed) All comes down to wanting to look good for me but for my wife as well.

My wife started her diet and healthy habits long before I did. It made it easier. She lost more than I did and has kept it off for 2 years now. It's just easier when you have someone to share the trials and tribulations of this. Recently saw some family we haven't seen in 3 to 6 years. They were flabbergasted when they saw us. That felt good. :) Also had a friend post some pics of his trip to Cali from '07 when he visited us. We look like completely different people compared to then.

4TH day in and I am now 208 lbs! F$%! YEAH! Slowly but surely this crap is coming off. Just watching portion control, exercise, and cooking food from home. Man, I really hope I can make it to my goal. Medicine is still keeping me amped and eating less. Gearing up for second!!! :)

Hey everybody. Seems the topic died down but after a week, I am down to 204. BADA$$ I wont report back for awhile but thought I'd let you know that these meds work. Taught me how to eat and portion control.

Well, lighter me = faster miata. :)

Hey guys! Well, 3 weeks of eating right, working out, and taking the drug. I am sitting at 197 lbs with a total of 21 lbs lost so far. I hit my first goal of 198 lbs and now headed to 175 lbs, but I am at a stand still right now but haven't given up. I believe I am gaining muscle mass...

I finally fit comfortable in my 36 size pants and on my first belt loop hole. (Might have to drill a new hole) - 'that's what she said!'

Well guys, don't give up. Just kick that fat a$$ up off the couch, eat good foods, and repeat.

Well Superbowl about killed me, so much junk food, so little control. :fp:

I am back to the "Lose it!" app now in hopes I can lose the belly for summertime.

If you have not downloaded this app you need to, its free and its a good way to check yourself throughout the day. It worked for me last year, hope it works this year!

Just for the update. I am now at 183 lbs. Total lost = 35 lbs (3/5/14)

Everything has been great on the meds and constantly working out and eating the proper portions. The end of March will be the last of the phentermine... So here we go guys.

The end of March wasn't so bad. It was the last of the phentermine... Everything has been great off the meds and constantly working out and eating right.

Hope everyone else is dropping weight. I really miss the miata forum guys... the speed forums are not so great (trolls)...

Must revive old thread!!! :)

so... I dunno how everyone else is doing but hopefully well.

Bad news: Might be selling the 13 Mazdaspeed 3 due to my wife's Speed6 isn't doing so hot. Might be picking up a new 2014/2015 3 or 6...

Good news: My wife is 9 weeks pregnant with our number 2! hee hee I can't wait but that is the main reason why I am selling the Speed3. Move things around to better my wife and family. My fun can come 2nd.

But on topic. My weight is now down to 165 lbs. It's hard work right now but still kickin a$$. I hope everyone else is living faster by eating healthy. It's been one heck of a ride but still got another 15 lbs to go. Shouldn't be so bad right?

I was at 164, up to around 169, but I believe it is muscle gain. I have been doing a lot more body weight exercise. I am going to keep adding strength and keep at 165. I updated my social media image last week with a current photo and a lot of people who haven't seen me in a while couldn't believe it. Feels goods all around. :)

At my heaviest, I was at 216. Now I'm back at 205 over the span of 4 months. So I'm back on the horse working to go back to 175. I played soccer for the first time in over a year and forgot how great it was. Gives me motivation to lose weight so I can be more conditioned and play better

Keep it up man, I was at 218 lbs and now at 165 lbs (5'5"-btw). I was in the same exact boat. I used to BMX all the time but lost interest when buddies moved or wrecked the bodies to much. A few months ago I started riding again.. still a bit rusty but getting back into it and I enjoy it again! ^_^

Don't give up the fight! I still have not eaten ANY fast food or went through any drive through. Exception of Starbucks... No breading and portion control.

fyi: I ride a 2011 Mirraco Mainline.

That's been my problem. I have played sports since I was 4 and stopped playing at 18. I'm now 21 and haven't really done anything physical since. Running has been nice but I haven't gone in a little while. Will be going again tomorrow. I worked my way up to 2.5 miles, but I am wondering how much of that I lost by not running for a few weeks! Time to start eating right and exercising, then weight lifting!

I started a few months ago at 227 lbs. I am now anywhere between 190 and 195 depending on time of day I weigh myself. I have gone from a 36 inch waist to a 34 now. I want to get down to a 32 we shall see how it works out for me. For the most part I stopped drinking 10 drpepper cans a day and only drink water now :)

I've cut back on soda a lot. I've been drinking water, eating fish or grilled chicken w/ brown rice and a fruit or vegetable 5 nights a week. My lungs are super weak from some surgeries a while back, so I can't do much cardio. I've been doing squats and pullups. The difference after just a few months makes it all worth it. It's fascinating how fast our bodies can change in a positive way if you put effort into it.

An easy way I use to motivate myself to be active is to get friends together and play sports. I've been playing basketball. I'm 6'1" and I am super close to dunking on a full height goal. I can't shoot a basketball to save my life but I've got enough hops to make a good defender.

I've lost 15 pounds so far, using a few different methods. I use an app called MyFitnessPal on my android phone. It budgets out how many calories you should have in total for the day, and you input food and it will track your caloric intake for you. I find a lot of the reason why I'm losing weight isn't the increased exercise, but watching how much / what I eat. I previously was eating around 2600 calories a day, and even with exercise, still gaining weight. Diet is huge.

Another tip is when you're hungry, have fruit at your house. Instead of snacking on potato chips or something like that, I eat strawberries or bananas. A lot healthier, and less calories too.

Cardio helps a lot, I have a few friends I can call on to go running with. Other people can be a source of motivation and help get your lazy ass out of the computer chair.

Oh, and watch the calories from what you drink. I used to have a sweetened coffee, soda, and a beer or two every day. That'd easily add up to 500-700 calories just like that. I switched to unsweetened coffee (I need my caffeine) and water. Beer is only like once or twice a week, when I have the caloric allowance for it.
