Hosted in Japan, this event is planned as one of the MX-5 25th anniversary meetings (worldwide).

Every member of the staff involved in planning and organizing this meeting is a devoted fan and owner of the car, participating as unpaid volunteers. We hope to make the most of this opportunity to strengthen and increase exchanges among fellow MX-5 fans from around the world, and are engaged in daily preparations for the meeting as we look forward to celebrating this milestone anniversary together.

When the third generation MX-5 was unveiled in June of 2005, three representatives from the MX-5 fanclub were invited to attend; Yamamoto Takuya, master of ceremonies for the MX-5 25th Anniversary Meeting Japan, was one of those very members honored by invitation from Mazda.

Regarding the details for the MX-5 25th Anniversary Meeting Japan, it will be held September 14th and 15th in Furano, Hokkaido, a location known throughout Japan for its scenic beauty and rolling foothills.

With the event venue set amongst the Furano foothills, known as sacred ground to MX-5 Roadster fans in Japan, it is safe to say there has not been a more spacious location for an annual meeting since the 10th Anniversary and 20th Anniversary events held in Hiroshima.

In previous MX-5 meetings that have been hosted in Furano, leaders of the MX-5 development team and their staff have traveled from Mazda corporate headquarters at their own expense to participate. In fact, the majority have come to be regular participants, while many have joined as volunteer staff in order to help prepare for the event and experience it more fully as a result.

With the great number of MX-5 fans worldwide, meetings hosted by fellow owner-fans are undoubtedly numerous. However no other meeting in Japan has attracted the very people who developed the MX-5 we all know and love for Mazda.

At the close of the MX-5 25th Anniversary Meeting Japan, a group ride through the scenic foothills of Furano is planned for all participants and their cars; a closing ceremony of sorts, it allows them to enjoy driving together as a group while waving in hopes of a future reunion. Of course, even those participants not able to bring their car for whatever reason are welcome and encouraged to hitch a ride with a fellow enthusiast and join in the fun!

For MX-5 fans around the world, members are working hard and aim to make the MX-5 25th Anniversary Meeting Japan a great success.

2014 marks a quarter century since the MX-5 came into this world, and what better way to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event than spending it with fellow enthusiasts, and celebrating this historical milestone together!
