Accidentally found these NB tail lights. I don't know the brand name or where they from. What do you think of them?

no such thing as a good looking aftermarket NB tail light, except for the GV when executed properly.

A certain fella had those LED taillights on his NB.

Yet those Morette taillights have a soft spot for me.

Aight...I think you're callin' me out. Yes, I had those exact lights in the op but personally, I liked them because they include the European red, rear fog light which you can wire up separately.

Actually, there are two versions, one for Europe and one for the UK. I say this from experience... if you get those, you'll have cruise control problems until you install a pair of resistors.

Because I didn't use cruise control all the time, it took me a while to connect my new tail lights with cruise control problems. I even bought a new CC module to no avail. After a week of troubleshooting everything, I finally came to the realization that LED tails will confuse an NB's CC system but a pair of resistors from Autozone will fix it.

Surprised these haven't been mentioned...I like these but soooo pricey. I think Carbonmiata is trying to make a set similar to these.

They're okay but what happens is that individual bulbs will start burning out.

Oh and your cruise control will conk out and you'll have hyperflash until you install resistors.

It would probably look better without all the chrome, if you are in traffic and hit your brakes in the afternoon sun will the guy behind you even see the brake lights, if you could smoke the lens, or spray them in a transparent red it might look better. But yeah as is they look .... meh ...

Yeah, I've looked for aftermarket options for tails, too, and the only options that look good are prohibitively expensive. Oh well, plenty of other work to do on the car before I worry about tail lights.

There R No options, NBs are doomed with regard to aftermarket tail lights.

Car Shop Glow and Mayday Garage are in the process of making some tail lights for the NB. If they look good ..... I'll probably the first one to show them off.

So right, i have seen this in a lot of Mercedes and BMW's, then you have to replace the whole unit.
No good
My taillight use standard bulbs, so no trouble replacing the bulbs

Yes you can still order them brand new, I am pretty sure Bill at MIataRoadster can get them for you. Probably a made to order item now though.

Official US Distributor - http://maydaygarage.com/shop/

They are also making custom tail lights for the NA guys with the GV tail panels.

Still a few months in the making though.

FYI Car Shop Glow products aren't cheap, lol.

No nothing yet to show for.

They have a list of tail lights that they plan on making. The NA/NB was mentioned quite often so it has somewhat made it on the list...with a "high possibility".

NA for GV tail guys are going to be made for sure.

Sir are you referring to the Morette's? I just purchase a set and I wanna make sure I deal with the resistor issue accordingly. Thanks

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the tail lights in the very first post of the thread. You won't need any resistors in the Morette's, assuming that you're using standard bulbs.
