It was previously reported by various news outlets that Mazda is planning on revealing the all-new Mazda MX-5 Miata next year at the Chicago Auto Show.
This is the same location that our beloved Mazda Roadster was originally unveiled at 25 years ago.
However, it's being reported online now that Mazda might be changing their plans, and with any luck we may see a partial reveal of the 2015 "ND" Mazda Miata next month at the New York Auto Show.
Some sources are stating that Mazda is going to reveal a stripped down chassis of the next-generation MX-5 Miata similar to their reveal of the infamous Roadster Coupe in Japan, and the NC Roadster.
Also if you have not heard already, the Alfa Romeo version of the MX-5 Miata is a no-go, at least under that brand label. Instead it will be sold under the Fiat name since Fiat's CEO Sergio Marchionne revealed this week at the Geneva Motor Show that the roadster will be better suited for Fiat's Abarth brand. Both the Mazda and the (now Fiat) Roadster's are expected to have a 4-cylinder engine, however the Fiat will use the 500 Abarth engine. This makes more sense if they are planning to sell their version of the roadster as an Abarth or Fiat model.
