Also today, the automaker will reveal a newly-developed SKYACTIV-Chassis

This year at the New York Auto Show Mazda is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the MX-5 Miata sports car with a large display of old and new models. So contrary to the earlier reports, the 2015 MX-5 is not going to be revealed in full at NYIAS. We will only get a glimpse of its chassis, which features a front-midship-engine layout and rear-wheel-drive configuration. The engine is moved further towards the center of the car, and the whole thing weighs 100 kg less than the current model.

What sets the special edition model apart includes Brilliant Black-painted roof, A-pillars, and door mirror housings; the off-white leather seat upholstery and door trim, hand-finished dashboard decorative panel in Piano Black and the fitting of Bilstein dampers plus 17-inch Dark Gunmetal alloy wheels.
