As many of you have learned, Rob does his Tow Hooks in small batches through out the year, so if you are considering getting a set, now's the time to jump on. We had so many people try to get in after it was finished last time. So don't let this one pass you by. It's been over a year since his last one.

For this run there will be 5 colors offered: Red, Blue, Black, Purple, and Gold. Raw is also available.
This year it is looking like there will be very little to no etching.

NA Type 1 Shown Above

For this run, Rob is offering both the NA Type 1 (Shown Above) and also the NA Type 2 (Shown Below) for the NA Rear. The previous design was slightly taller where it makes it way under the rear bumper. On a stock height car it didn’t make a difference, but once he started testing on Project-G’s red miata, there was too much loss of ground clearance. It was apparent it was an issue. Now he has introduced a new design and has gained another 5/16” of clearance and it made a definite difference.

Great to hear that there'll be another run of Rob's tow hooks. Jazz loves his anodized blue tow hooks. :)

No, no lifetime warranty on the hooks. Sorry about that.

All PMs have been added and replied to! If you want to join the groupbuy as well, just send me a PM with all the above stated information!

Sorry JonB, I was trying to be funny, because DK Wolf's Miata was in an accident. I didn't mean to imply anything. I bought my pair a couple years ago, and I love them. I really like the NA Type 2 rear hook... thinking I need one of these.

Some people have been asking for this:

http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g337/ProjectGarage2010/Ryoku%20Rob/RobHookTest.jpg (http://s1096.photobucket.com/user/ProjectGarage2010/media/Ryoku%20Rob/RobHookTest.jpg.html)

We had thrown the RyokuRob Tow Hook on our red car really quickly to test this very thing on the last group buy. We had noticed it was slightly touching the R-Package rear lip (BEFORE even jacking it up) when we were taking the picture, but since we were in a hurry to leave for whatever reason, we opted to not adjust it. Rob was standing there and said the gap wouldn't change anyway, so we jacked it up and sure enough, it didn't change.

Good news! The tow hooks have been picked up from the tumber and WILL be going to anodize today! Thank you all for your patience! These should be going out as soon as they return from the anodizers!

Dear Ryoku Parts Customers,

It has been called to my attention that some of you have had some issues with the Smaller NB rear bolt on my Tow Hook part. I apologize for this as I did not check this due to my excitement with the group buy.

After investigation I have discovered that hole is physically to small for the 3/8" bolt. This is due to the new manufacture of the item. The offset of this machine is different from the one that was used before. My tight tolerances have made this now an issue. The hole should be 25/64" or 10mm

The Fix:
Drill out the hole with a 25/64" drill bit. (10mm for those outside the US) If you don't have one a 3/8" drill bit will work. Hand drilling is perfectly ok. Drilling this hole is only opening it up .03" or .05mm depending on variance. This will not affect the integrity of the part or the anodizing.

If you don't feel comfortable doing this modification please contact myself or Project G and we will further assist you on this matter.

With regards to the larger bolt and washers and threads. The rear stock hook on the NB differs from year to year. It my discovery a few years ago when I made this that at some year (maybe NB1 to NB2) the thickness of the stock hook changed. The washers are there to make up the difference for the years with the smaller rear hook. You don't really need the washers at all. The hole tolerance is tight enough that it is not needed.

Again I apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Robert Bahr

Not to make you feel any worse, but you will never see these in this form again, as they no longer come laser etched :(

My rear hook got torn up form an old stance height and it makes me sad since it is pretty much irreplaceable

I bumped the same thread on two other forums and contacted Project-G via email and they said Ryoku Rob has been MIA so no foreseeable run any time soon that they know of.
