revlimiter Badges (http://revlimiter.net/store/badtes.php)

Works with most cars. Some models will need holes filled left over from OEM badges.
Composed of vinyl and solar-cell quality polyurethane epoxy.
Badges are chromed diecast metal. No cheap plastic here.
3M 20 lb tape included with each badge.

Go to my store (http://revlimiter.net/store/badges.php) for price and ordering info! I've got a sort of sliding scale for pricing based on what package you order. Nose badges are starting at $39 + shipping each. Fender badges start at $29 + shipping each.

Details:
http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/l/badges-nose2.jpg
Badges come in two sizes: 58mm (nose) and 50mm (fender).

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/l/badges-nose3.jpg
The 58mm badge has a wide double bevel around the inner design. Both sizes are solid metal. They're a level above the OEM chrome plastic they'll likely replace.

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/l/badges-nose4.jpg
The 50mm badge is very low profile by design to keep it close to the body. The 58mm sticks out a bit further.

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/l/badges-nose5.jpg
Each badge has some light 3M adhesive on the back. I also ship a strip of insane 20 lb tape with each badge. You can almost pick up the whole car with the stuff! (But seriously, you need to be SURE of the location before you stick the crazy 20 lb tape on your car.)

The 58mm nose badge is perfect for the NA Miata. Not huge and overpowering like badges on modern cars.

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/l/badge-sharka5.jpg
NB2 cars will have to have the holes filled from the large emblem before mounting one of these 58mm badges.

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/l/badge-sharka3.jpg
The 50mm badge is perfect for a hardtop...

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/l/badge-bucky1.jpg
... or a fender.

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/l/badge-bucky2.jpg
The 50mm badge is also perfect for the NB trunk lid. No hole filling required.

Standard colors:
http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/l/vinyl-colors.jpg
Left to right: white, black, chrome foil, metallic silver, gold foil, yellow, metallic gold, 93LE red, bright red, pink, orange, BRG, Mazda blue, dark blue.

The badges are made from cut vinyl. The above colors are always in stock. Any design can be made using any of these colors for a small additional fee.

If you want to order a badge in a very specific color (smokey red or Laguna Seca blue for example) you have to realize that it might not be possible. I'm limited to what colors of vinyl exist. I can't just print out an exact shade for you. Also, there would be a vinyl roll fee (around $30) for colors not shown above.

FAQ

Q: Can I have matching center cap inserts made?!?!
A: Yes! Due to the different sizes that center caps come in, each order would be custom (read: not cheap). I'll have a page of details coming in the near future. For right now, I'm trying to keep up with badge orders. Feel free to order some center caps via the order form. I'll request measurements in mm to 2 decimal places. You also must actually have center caps on hand. I cannot make the plastic thing (the actual center cap) that fits your wheel.

Q: Can I order a matching horn button from you?!??
A: Not yet. I don't have a good source for blank horn buttons. If you have a blank horn button in your posession and the button itself is perfectly flat, then yes. I could make you a domed insert for it.

Q: I'd really like a rectangular badge. Make it happen.
A: Sure! The mold fee for each new shape is around $1200. If you really want a shape or size not shown above, just let me know. It takes about 3 months for tooling and production in addition to the mold fee.

Q: Can I order one of the special keychain designs (a tach, rainbow kitty, etc)?
A: No. Those use printed vinyl and don't live well out in the elements. All badge designs are pure cut vinyl. That means more intricate designs like the Eunos keychain aren't possible. Sorry.

Please let me know. I'm almost certain the 58mm would cover it. The 50 might be a bit short. But it might cover any holes left behind anyway.

Q: Do you have a package deal for badges with matching keychain?

Say... that's a good question.

Well, right now I'm doing an unpublished keychain sale. They're $15ish each to try to reduce stock so I can remake them all with the new epoxy. At the very minimum, you'd get that deal. Let me think about it.

Quick answer: YES. There will be some sort of discount on the keychain price if ordered with badges. I'm just not sure how much discount.

I've got the Type v in black on order so I'll make sure to take some proper pictures when Adam has some time to finish it. Saved me about $100+ dollars on that ridiculously expensive OEM badge. I don't want to think about how much money I've thrown at Adam in the past 6 months...all of which I've had no buyers remorse of course!

Sorry, I was referring to your post where you said

"They're $15ish each to try to reduce stock so I can remake them all with the new epoxy. "

And was wondering if I should hold out for the new epoxy or if the finish product will be identical in quality etc.

That's only with regards to the keychains. All the badges use the new materials. The old resin keychains are fine, IMHO. You just can't leave them sitting out in the sun all day everyday or they will yellow.

revlimiter
05-25-2014, 01:59 PM
^ Answered exactly how I was gonna. Thank you Steve!!!

Yes, all badges are made with "the new epoxy" which is UV stable. It shouldn't yellow noticeably for 5+ years. It's flexible and resists scratches and impact damage. It's really amazing stuff.

The "old epoxy" is a UV resin that's very clear and meant for jewelry. It's rigid and doesn't heal after it gets scratched or gouged. It also yellows if left in the sun for a month or longer. It's honestly a fine substance to make keychains out of, but I don't really want to keep two different types of epoxy in stock. I'll be phasing out the old UV epoxy in favor of the new polyurethane.

All custom keychain orders use the new epoxy going forward and have for the last month or so.

Here's some custom badges I've made over the past few weeks.

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/badge-custom-yotsuba.jpg
This is inspired by the classic Racing Mate 4 leaf clover (yotsuba) logo. I thought they might bring Sharka a little luck. So far, these hardtop badges have worked!

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/badge-custom-wingedm.jpg
The infamous Winged-M badge. Nearly impossible to make badges with very thin vinyl like this.

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/custom-blackV.jpg
A black Type V badge. This thing is so pretty, black might turn into a standard (no cost added) option on this design.

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/custom-redpro1.jpg
The Prototipo1 with a dark red background. Shot on a craft mat to try to show the red better.

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/custom-redkgw.jpg
A red KGW badge. The thin chrome makes these nearly impossible to produce.

http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/custom-goldPro2.jpg
A pair of 50mm fender badges with gold background. The gold glitters in the sun.

Before buying my miata, I got a MazdaRoadster.net sticker and threw it on a glass vase I had lying around. This became my change bin where I save up for items that I don't need (ie: maintenance, performance or safety.) So far I've emptied the jar twice. (Ironically, neither item is installed yet.)

Item 1 - picked up used on December 8th, 2013: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a101/bleuiii/Baby%20Camber/Camber%202014/P2150031_zps7109d4b7.jpg
Item 2 - also grabbed used from a member of this site: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a101/bleuiii/Baby%20Camber/Camber%202014/P3260036_zpsb9655b0a.jpg

I've now decided that my change fund for the year is going entirely to Rev during Sharksgiving week, depending on how much I add between now and then...
1.) Fender and Nose badges (flying V in black, red and white)
2.) Warbird gauges (possibly some minor custom tweaking with the background color of the tach gauge)
3.) Sharka Vent Rings (as close to brushed style as I can get)

I sat down today, flipped on "Mighty Car Mods" via YouTube, and started rolling change in preparation! $94 rolled... 5+ months to go. (Might have to fill up the tank a few times at $50.01!)

Parts that are sitting were collected over the winter, but then I bought a house and only recently allowed myself "garage time." Lately its been all maintenance stuff, though. In any event, the car is getting repainted before the badges go on. I just need to decide on a color for the car, then decide the correct badges! I think I've decided all of that, though. Just need to make that final call between repainting a.) red b.) ford olympic blue or c.) silver. (Car is already red... I just hate red cars!)

They've been out less than a month and I'm already redesigning things.
http://revlimiter.net/store/badges/badge-pro1-2.jpg

I put a black Prototipo 1 badge on my NB's nose and immediately noticed something was off. The M looked a bit odd. A bit... fat? Not quite right. So I dug through my parts collection and compared it to a real vintage M. It was taller and thinner.

A little bit of work later and a whole tray of colors...

BAM! New Prototipo 1 badges. And new standard colors. You can now get the Pro1 and Pro2 designs in any of these colors for the standard price.

Really loving the matching badge and keychain set and the rear of the car may need the same vintage touch. I was thinking the smaller badge may work perfectly back there. Much easier and most likely less expensive to get a badge from you than actually source a real RX2 badge.
